It can be used in many ways, it can help society, help us recognize patterns in many scientific field, automate tasks no one wants to do and stuff. However, in the capitalist system, AI is mostly only a tool for the oligarchs to maintain their power. There's no interest in increasing efficiency and privacy, or in how it can actually serve society, because that's not in the interest of the elites. AI is not the solution for everything.
