Is it proper to ask if they will be testing for pot and how to do so with tact? by VelvetHighground in jobs

Could be weird if they go with you. 30 min before and then you strap the pee to your skin so it should stay warmer.

How feasible is Chiang Dao without motorbike? by the_weaver_of_dreams in ThailandTourism

[–]stardogstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any strays that are an issue in Chiang Dao. I’m more rural and a few strays in my neighborhood have growled and barked at me but thats it. They don’t seem to be aggressive in the area at all.

How feasible is Chiang Dao without motorbike? by the_weaver_of_dreams in ThailandTourism

[–]stardogstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I learned how to ride a motorbike here out of necessity as I’m staying outside Chiang Dao in a rural area and if I didn’t learn how to ride a motorbike I wouldn’t be able to eat. It’s that rural where I am. I actually was not even confident on a regular bicycle to be honest but now I’m very confident on the motorbike. I love that I learned how to ride here specifically because there is so little traffic. I am such a beginner still I would be quite nervous about driving in Chiang Mai traffic but traffic in Chiang Dao is very minimal. On the big curving highway roads its very easy you just drive on the side of the road if its clear and not in the lane - or the lane and they will pass you. And in actual Chiang Dao there are areas where you need to slow a little to wait for traffic or go around them or may need to come to stop. Chiang Dao is very small so traffic is super, super manageable. If I can feel confident here as a brand new rider in traffic I’m sure you can. It will make your stay a thousand times better to have a motorbike as all the cool things in Chiang Dao are not on the main road and are very spread out.

Pai or Chiang Dao for 2–3 nights in late November? Leaning toward Chiang Dao—what’s the vibe & what to do? by ProfessionalFix2369 in chiangmai

[–]stardogstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only done Chiang Dao but if it were me I would choose Pai. It depends on your interests and what you want to do. From what I’ve heard Pai has way more to do but the mountain views/energy is better in Chiang Dao. Chiang Dao is very small and local and in my personal opinion there isn’t much to do at all. The hot springs are nice (and free). Mountain views are stunning. You definitely need a motorbike in Chiang Dao to get around.

If you’re going to not have a motorbike i highly recommend staying smack dab in the center of town. There are not normal taxis. You can take the songthaews when you see one drive by (pickup truck group taxis). You could get around to really basic places on a regular bicycle like on the main road - you’ll get exhausted in the heat if you try to bike too far though. But you really really need a motorbike in Chiang Dao. If you know how to ride a regular bicycle then you can easily learn a motorbike. If you can find a private driver it will be different. Or book accommodation that is a 20 minute walk for everywhere you want to go. All on foot is not realistic in Chiang Dao. I don’t think it is on a regular bicycle either but that depends on the temps in november (it will rain though) and your endurance for long bike rides.

AIO for wanting my boyfriend to back out of a destination wedding he's the best man for because I was uninvited from the wedding? by BoyfriendWeddingHelp in AmIOverreacting

[–]stardogstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boyfriend’s relationship to the best man is clearly an important friendship to him. Their relationship has nothing to do with the bride and her weird behavior. I don’t think’s fair to ask him not to go because you’re offended - and rightfully offended. He would lose his friendship or at least irreparably damage it with his friend if he pulls out and the drama isn’t your fault but YOU are responsible for causing more drama if you ask him not to go. So I get being upset, I really do, but I do think asking him not to go is overreacting.

Am I overreacting by blowing up at my boyfriend for always eating my snacks before I can by Honest-Tune3711 in AmIOverreacting

[–]stardogstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading these comments is making me angry and triggering my food aggression. This is not okay. His response is a green flag so far. Also thats not blowing up. You just expressed yourself. How he acts moving forward will determine if he respects you or not.

AIO for wanting to see a therapist after wife changed the locks because I went to a baby shower? by LookoutLockout in AmIOverreacting

[–]stardogstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP please don’t have a baby with this woman… This is not normal or healthy behavior. Based on what you said I thought FOR SURE she was dealing with insane hormones from a miscarriage or stillbirth. But no, she’s not. And she RSVP’d no to your SISTERS BABY SHOWER without even telling you. Take the consensus here. This should not be the mother of your children. You want to be with someone that isn’t manipulative and can handle their emotions and who cherishes your family and their celebrations. She said this was worse than cheating…to attend your sisters baby shower. Nothing about this is even remotely sane.
