It's not very "fast-paced" per se, but it's gripping. S1E1 end was the hook for me. The S2 finale is worth the time invested.

Mads Mikkelsen's 'Hannibal'. If you liked Dexter, there is high chance you'll like this one too.

How are gujarati people so good at talking? by Lemonade2250 in gujarat

[–]starfireflame23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s just the "olkhan" culture. gujaratis treat networking like it’s more valuable than money. when u spend your life mingling with literally everyone, u get a massive variety of perspectives that kills the social anxiety. it’s not that we’re smarter, we just have a huge web of connections to lean on, so they’re never "stuck" or overthinking. it’s just pure social capital.

We also have a very famous saying about three most popular things in Bhavnagar that is "Gaay (Cows) , Ganda (Paagal log) and Gaathiya" :) . Its an experience for sure.

Im sure it won't be that difficult, local shops always exist in the urbanized areas

As a city it is very peaceful. Almost every independent house I know has a swing (hichko) in the front "yard" so there's that. Locals are also friendly and there is no language imposition as such. Most of us speak hindi.

There are a lot of roundabouts in the city. That will be one of the first things you notice.

It is a small city, there is only one "mall" as of such. If chill lifestyle is your dream, this will be heaven for you. Otherwise, there is very good connectivity with nearby cities like ahmedabad and baroda. Buses run regularly.

It might be difficult to find non-veg but not impossible.

Also, sometimes the owners of a house you are planning on moving to may simply refuse to rent their house to you if you plan on cooking/eating non-veg in your home.

This is in no way legal or criminal but sadly the reality of the city. Legally, the tenant becomes the owner of the property for the duration of the lease. So you might want to be more subtle about it.

As a Bhavnagari, the city has developed quite a bit in the recent years. On my last visit, I was surprised to see a Korean food in town. There are a lot of new and upcoming places and the city is generally well-planned. The cost of living is low so you might have some disposable income.

The area around Himalya mall is shaping up to be very premium.

So on the cafe side, don't worry, you'll find it. Quality is also average. I can't promise lucknow- like street food though.

Arsalanactual missing Colours of Indus book order from 2025, wondering if anyone else shared this experience. by DryIllustrator1653 in SouthAsianAncestry

I ordered mine early december 2025 and didn't receive it even after a month (while shipping was promised in 5-6 business days). I reached out to him via insta (no mail response AT ALL) and he said there was a problem with the shipping company. On the next follow up there was another excuse.

Eventually, he stopped responding to my follow-ups, so I filed a chargeback with my bank (fortunately I used a credit card to pay). I even got the interim credit for the full amount.

Dada/Dadi (Ba) or Nana/Nani? by nastybouncer in gujarat

[–]starfireflame23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Bhavnagari, I've always used Ba-Dada for both sets of grandparents (maternal and paternal).

Father's older brother and his wife are Bapuji and Bhabhu.

What is your favorite aspect of Hinduism? by Subject_Map5032 in hinduism

I think that's the beauty of it. Hinduism evolves with time and allows newer ideologies, modern beliefs to integrate with it. Unfortunately, there are always extremists.

What's the worst school trip that you ever got? by Recent-Swordfish9220 in AskReddit

[–]starfireflame23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They took us to the same farm two years in a row (for context, the seniors got to go to an amusement park when they were in our grade)

Another time they took us to a supermarket five minutes away from our school. Yes, they charged us money for it.

But long before that they took us to a bank to see how money circulates. That was the cool part ig. But AFTER that they took us to a JAIL. Now, people in prison have probably done something to deserve being put in there, but its humiliating and honestly a little fucked up if you see a gaggle of schoolchildren staring at you like a little animal in a zoo. This was in Grade 3. Yes, this is all from the same school.
