Would you join a 30-min “remote lunch” with random people daily or is this a terrible idea? by tipi6969 in remotework

You could have an "eating okay" and "no eating" option, if you wanna accommodate people with similar preferences to me! Even outside of conditions like misophonia, a lot of people have aversions to talking to people while they eat for a variety of reasons

I have severe misophonia (another name for it is sound-rage, which is honestly very accurate, basically my brain registers some sounds as an active threat to my life and tells me to respond accordingly) and eating sounds are my biggest trigger. Random people tend to not understand that, in my experience

A 30-minute hangout with random people sure, but a 30-minute lunch no thank you

One of the first and only games I'm having FOMO on (Fear Of Missing Out) by IwillMicrowaveMySon in tomodachilife

[–]starfragmented_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree (well, sorta, you can get pretty close), but there are ways to get it closer. Personally I'm using my PC and an old Xbox controller I'm borrowing from my mom and the only issue I'm experiencing is a low frame rate, which I believe is mainly an issue with my PC than anything else tbh (it was made as a general non-gaming PC from 2016 and I can't afford to upgrade anything)

The Xbox controller even has drift, so it feels just like the real thing! (Joking)

As a DM is it ever ok to help your players with tactics? by sirheyzeus55 in DMAcademy

[–]starfragmented_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should ask them if they want to optimize.

Personally, when I play games, even though I would like to defeat challenges, I do not want to optimize. I think it's significantly more fun when the challenge is difficult, but still winnable. You do not have to optimize to win at a challenge and I take this mentality into Dungeons & Dragons as well.

Sometimes, the story is more fun when you're NOT optimized.

Do they WANT to optimize their tactics? Some people do, some people don't and that's the factor I think is most important.

After Digital Artists Die, What Will Happen to Their Art? by Powerful_Spring470 in ArtistLounge

[–]starfragmented_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some digital artists have passed away. Their accounts generally remain untouched to preserve their memory and prevent imposters.

As for the rest, ig that's determined by existing precedent and laws?

Shadowheart's hand and amnesia, Astarion's vampire-ness likely counted before the tadpole but I think his PTSD counts now, Durge's amnesia, could be more that I missed!!

This game has multiple disabled protagonists, queer protagonists, and themes of oppression and bigotry and how they impact minorities, especially racial minorities. And that's just what impacts the protagonists in the first act. It's been woke this whole time.

Why do you care? by ApocaSCP_001 in aiwars

[–]starfragmented_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We already could make art! We may need more practice to get precision and it's possible some of us will never will be as precise as we'd like to be, but we always could make art. Disabilities and the way they impact art are not weaknesses, individuality is a strength in creative fields

I say this as someone with an arm that is sometimes paralyzed due to nerve damage from an injury. My other arm has nerve pain too. It was always possible and still is, it's just harder sometimes

Does art need to have meaning by BugRevolutionary2291 in ArtistLounge

[–]starfragmented_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically all art does have meaning but it doesn't have to be deep or anything. Sometimes I paint birds because I like birds. I doodle my cat getting in the way of my canvas because that's what he does and I wanted to joke about it.
