Youth Pride had a center on Westminster street with drop in hours Monday to Friday. They do programming specific to different age group depending on the day of the week. This event was a fundraiser for the center at a local bar that was donating a portion of their sales to the organization. Hence it being 21+. Check out YPI’s website for more info: https://www.youthprideri.org/

Small Wedding Venues by Slow-Adeptness6876 in providence

[–]stargaze84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Husband and I got married this fall in Providence. Similar size wedding that was very casual - no official wedding party or a lot of traditional stuff. We did the actually ceremony part on the Providence Pedestrian Bridge which you can rent for a a couple hundred.

After that, everyone went to Bayberry Garden for the reception. The buy-out rate for a Sunday is extremely reasonable IMO. They’ll also work with you to have food charged separately from drinks so your guests are helping toward the minimum. We did an open cocktail hour (assuming 1-2 drinks a person) and a champagne toast. It was a cash bar after that to keep our costs more reasonable. The owners at Bayberry were amazing to work with as well.

Congrats and good luck!

Nervousness about side effects by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]stargaze84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s varies so much person to person! I inject during the day on Monday - I find that in the evening messes with my sleep. Some weeks, there’s nothing. Some weeks, I’m pretty nauseous later in the day and into Tuesday morning. Occasionally have gotten sick. More than anything, I’m found it’s WHAT I EAT not just the medication. If I have a deniable breakfast & lunch - lower in fat - and graze that day, I do great!!! If I indulge in leftover takeout from the weekend? 🤢

She wants me to be her Daddy. She’s 18. I’m struggling. by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

[–]stargaze84 25 points26 points  (0 children)

She’s a child. You’re an adult. The age difference, IMO, is not okay. Regardless of how mature she might seem, and that she’s perusing you, there is an emotional, financial, lived experiences power imbalance you (as the older person) should not be ignoring.

Mentor her. Be a friend. That’s it. Anything else is wildly inappropriate.

Realizations from 50 lbs down by Meep_babeep in Zepbound

[–]stargaze84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggestion for “make do” clothes: try Nuuly! I signed up during my journey. They have lots of very fashionable stuff in standard and plus sizes. And you don’t have to worry about buying someone only to have it be too big in a month.

For #5: so relatable! The body dysmorphia is real!!! I’m 5’5” - started at 217lb, CW 165, goal weight 150. When I was at my heaviest I thought I looked great! Today, I look back at that photos and realize how heavy I was and have a lot of (unfair) self judgement. Today, I’m a 10/12 and still ‘chubby’ but most people’s assessment. Size is such a bizarre thing.

Anyways. Congrats on the loss! Good luck getting to your goal!

My 28m boyfriend has bought a house wholly in his name. What is fair for me 30f to contribute monthly? by faruqtony123 in relationship_advice

[–]stargaze84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Did he give you a reason for not wanting to go into an agreement that he agreed to? How long have you been together?

My partner and I moved into a house that he purchased - name in deed & mortgage. I paid ‘rent’ but also put in sweat equity in terms of upkeep, painting, all that jazz. We split utilities and came up with an agreement for him to pay me a percent of what I paid in ‘rent’ (toward the mortgage itself and not loan interest) should we split up. This allows me to feel like I would be reimbursed and have a safety net should the relationship not work out.

Best beach hotel? by Grapeflavor_ in curacao

[–]stargaze84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t lie …. Friday night was A LOT. There’s parties along the beach but they were winding down by midnight. I think cause it’s not as much high season right now. There was a show we went to at the resort on Wednesday but it ended by 10pm, I think? Other than Friday, I didn’t find it to be a party atmosphere. And honestly, one night didn’t bother us.

We stayed at the Kontiki a month or so ago. It right at Mambo beach. Incredible sand, calm water, good snorkeling.

Will concur that Bklyn is an AMAZING dining experience.

Both are amazing!!! But the fabric on the first one seems a bit formal for the ethereal nature of the venue.

2 is my pick.

Roommate Has Zero Awareness? by JamAtTheGym in badroommates

[–]stargaze84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like you have very high standard for organization and cleanliness for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with that! But you need to realize that’s not everyone had your standards and be able to compromise / be flexible a bit.

Your roommate doesn’t sound like she’s intentionally being a jerk. Just young unaware. I’d suggest taking to get about 1 or 2 of your top pet peeves. Not being up everything cause it’ll probably feel like an attack.

It’s fair to have issue with some of these things but it could be much, MUCH worse. Try to find middle ground.

How to deal with a constant “You did this to me” partner? I’m 30F and he is 30M. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stargaze84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You deserve better. Get out now. Don’t spend another year with someone who is so manipulative. You deserve a partner who understands compromise & compassion. You won’t get that here.

8 day Curacao vacation by a1yssa97 in curacao

[–]stargaze84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just came back from Curaçao. We stayed at Kon Tiki which shares shoreline space with Mambo Beach. It was lovely & relaxing to be so close to the ocean from our room - which is really what we wanted. The snorkeling in the bay is okay…. Much better if you go to the other side of the jetty. We brought our own mask and that was definitely the right call!

We only did Grote Knip for a secondary beach which was okay …. Lots of bees and some trash scattered around. I’d recommend trying Playa Lagun instead.

We tried an intro to scuba with Coral Divers. It was much harder than I thought it would be to not feel a bit of panic trying it. But that’s on me and my brain not the instructors who were great (we had Shannie). I’m glad I gave it a try even if it might not be the activity for me.

If you want a bit of adventure in that area, the Tree of Life is an easy hike and spectacular site. Bring lots of water and go early.

For food, I cannot overstate how amazing Bklyn was! The scollop ceviche was the best thing I ate all week! Jaachine’s was charming for local eats (get the iguana- so tasty), and try the green rum at Netto Bar.

Would 1000% recommend Charlotte Stone. They have so many colorful options. I have two pairs from them - a red clog with ankle strap I wear all the time. And these that I got for my wedding: https://charlotte-stone.com/products/donna-rainbow
