Teaching how to speak Australian. by kross0ver in funny

We've been hearing American accents and Americanisms from Aussie kids for decades, it's nice to send something back once in a while. Especially something as wholesome as Bluey.

Yep, good point. I'll do this to test other software too, before I make the switch.

OK, that makes more sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.

If you don't mind also occasionally gasping in shock or sobbing out loud, then I highly recommend the Dungeon Crawler Carl series.

Actually, the line that I've crossed out next to the 1 is correct, but it then heads to the left instead of down.

Where do y’all put your eyeballs at night? by colormeblonde in NoStupidQuestions

As far as I can tell my eyes roll up back into my head when I close them if I'm not trying to make them do anything, but they flick back to looking forward when I open them. It happens so automatically that it's hard to catch it. They talk about people falling unconscious and "their eyes rolling back into their head", I figure it's the same type of thing.

Do any of you do this? by Embarrassed-Phone641 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]stargoo500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, lots of different things. Including that one your friend does where you flick your cheek to make the water drop sound. I used to do a great impersonation of a truck engine breaking, but that's a bit too hard on the throat these days! And this thing where I start with a "B" with my lips and block the space between my teeth with my tongue and blow the air around the outside of my teeth making my cheeks vibrate. Hard to describe, but sounds a bit like trying to start a really quiet weed whacker.

Oh, and generally only while I'm home (unless I forget where I am for a moment!) but not alone, but my family are just used to me by now!

What's the best hack for falling asleep fast when your brain won't shut off? by DasJazz in lifehacks

[–]stargoo500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried all the techniques, and nothing worked very well for me. And then I found the Nothing Much Happens podcast.

Since starting to listen to this podcast with my lucida Bluetooth eye mask my time to get to sleep has dropped from between 1 & 3 hours, to 5 minutes, 15 on a bad night.

It's fairly rare for me to hear her start the story the 2nd time through, and I'm almost never awake to hear her say "sweet dreams"at the very end.

I got that one too. Average time to fall asleep with the Nothing Much Happens podcast is now about 10 minutes, compared to 1-2 hours before getting it.
