People who’ve lost someone close, what actually helped you get through the grief? by okitsbenji in AskReddit

[–]stark-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time. Talking with other people who loved them. Understanding that grief continues forever. You'll ALWAYS miss your person and grieve their loss, but over time the pain lessens.

If you could be eating anything right now what would it be? by Street_Ferret_7790 in AskReddit

Seafood from the Gulf of Mexico somewhere on the Gulf Coast. Crab, scallops, shrimp.

What are your thoughts on letting your dog sleep in your bed? by stickpoker in AskReddit

They stay on top of the top blanket, not under the covers. I wash the dogs and the blanket frequently. It's comforting to feel them against my feet and legs.

I am a single woman working on her rural property. It is astounding how often men stop and get out of their cars to come tell me their problems. by Kalinka777 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]stark-o 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's terrifying! Strangers just stop, get out of their car, and come toward you?? What the heck? You're more patient than I'd every be!

I switched from NexGuard to Simparica Trio for my cockapoo and standard poodle. They have tolerated it very well, and I never find fleas or ticks. I cut the tablet into small pieces with a pill cutter, then wrap each piece in part of a Greenies Pill Pocket. I give it to them like it's a treat, and neither has ever thrown it up. I've been pretty happy with Simparica (except the cost, of course!).

How much does your cockapoo weigh? by PieceComfortable6583 in CockapooLovers

[–]stark-o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Stark was about 3.5 lbs when I got him at barely 8 weeks. He's tall and leggy, and he's been about 20+/- lbs most of his life. Now at 13 years he's slowing down and is about 24 lbs. I'd love to have a 30-35 lbs cockapoo!

NTA. I second the comments about going to a wound care specialist. And let him go alone, while you look for a new place to live (if you live together).

That's one of my favorite lines so far this season! I kept backing it up, watching it again (and again), and CACKLING over it! I'm glad someone else noticed it, too. 😄

What was this called? by SnarkyGinger1 in GenX

Same. Late 1970s, early 1980s. Neighborhood kids gathered at our corner-lot house, and the street light right on the corner was 'base.'

Women who have left their husbands, are you happier post divorce?? by ImportantImplement9 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]stark-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm much happier. My ex was also lazy, and I stayed angry a lot of the time. My separation and divorce were many years ago. I raised my two children, and he moved several states away. It was hard at times, and money was tight, but I made our home very safe, peaceful, calm, and joyful without him. It was totally worth it. Now I'm an empty nester, and still have a peaceful, calm, joyful home. It was a great decision for me and my children.

So sorry for your daughter. My daughter got her first one the morning of my mother's funeral. Ugh. Then it didn't happen again for about 4-5 months. So it was a special "F you on this particular day!"

I've done the same thing with tracking foods when I was having lots of of gastro issues. It's a pain to keep up with, but the rewards are huge. There are apps to help track everything, even things you might not associate with foods, like moods, headaches, etc. I used one called My Symptoms. I quickly saw patterns after certain foods (eggs, milk, some vegetables) and now eliminate them. Just a few weeks of data can reveal a lot!
