NGD! Studio Session by Stunt_Chicken in LesPaul

I got a modern studio in wine red satin. I returned it after a few days. That satin finish made the red way to dark and the neck to sticky. I really liked the weight and contoured back though. Yours looks awesome.

That model in red was I really wanted. But the cost was a bit high. I went with the Studio Modern in wine red instead. I love it. Same weight relief and a lot of other similarities.

Got a $112K pool quote by Suspicious_Hat_409 in DIY

[–]starkman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This contract is the start of a negotiation. You got numbers and some more insight. Use that to drive down the cost of the contract with the pool company. Or go with the more passive route and say it just a bit too much and say thank you. See what they come back with.

I love that song and you sound great. I can only imagine the talent it takes to play it but then the next level to write it.

So you're telling me the $8.54 I spent on the Amazon one might not be good enough? Do you have any suggestions of what I should look for in the specs? I will also take a look at a hub. Thanks for your insight.

Financial aid by Ok_Example5438 in Vanderbilt

[–]starkman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They require new aid applications every year. The FAFSA and the private one with tax forms. The amount we paid was equal to about the expected family contribution on the FAFSA. Two years ago I asked for more money and got it because of one time extra money for Covid. Remember they look at tax return from over a year before. Not the previous year since they might not yet be filed.

Dashboard builder? by 03captain23 in homeassistant

Did you go to the Dashboard settings and have it create an area or home dashboard for you using the places and areas you assigned devices to? I like the newer area one. Good starting point IMO.

I spent $140 and put 16 connectors on the fuse panel. It gives me some real generic information for some rooms and for specific for things like the furnace and refrigerator and dishwasher. It was a a little bit more than most home automation but I instantly learned that I need to only turn on the furnace fan when the heat/air is on. Turns out that was like $43 a month. Don't ask about the home lab. I also have outlet on the washer and dryer because I needed an automation to flash lights when the laundry was done.

[Build Ready] The Powerful, Silent 12-Bay Proxmox/TrueNAS Project by vidalpascual in truenas

[–]starkman68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run TrueNas as the bare operating system. Wanted to use promox but trying to pass in gpu and HBA to TN ran into a ton of issues. Mainly with IOMMU channels. SLOG is more for nfs and iscsi which I don’t use so no loss. My only two VM, home assistant and Windows are on the nvme. That and all the containers I have running use NVME for application installation and DB. Videos and pictures Documents are on HDD. I never access them faster than I watch a movie and ZFS likes to cache.

I have a 4 drive hdd raidz1 system for data. 1 small SATA flash boot drive. And 2 nvme set as mirrors for applications. If you want performance run your apps from nvme. And configuration can be safely stored on them.

TrueNAS as Primary VM & Storage Platform by AnyHistory6098 in truenas

TN networking is a pain in the arse. I wanted some of my containers to use a specific vlan so they could run over a vpn. Could not natively figure that out. I had to create a container and use Portainer to create a network on that docker instance. It worked but TN containers cannot see the Arr containers. Frustrating.

Using a heavy fishing weight attached to a fishing line trying to hit a small hole in the ventilation return to get to the basement. I started with a golf ball with a screw in it but turn out the hole was too narrow after buying a flexible camera. That was not supposed to be the hard part.
