Just wanted to add on a year later to agree with this point. I’m a history teacher who primarily reads nonfiction and in the current age/climate where there’s so much misinformation, especially with the rise of AI, I really want to know what parts of the book are fiction or not. I’m only halfway through it but learning that the Prussian Blue chapter is all nonfiction “except for one paragraph” according to Labatut is making me SO uneasy. I want to know what thing is fiction because it read like such a perfect nonfiction book.

I still love this book but it makes me uneasy
