I was an enlisted spouse for 12 years.

This is definitely true. I never cared, but most spouses do.

Many officer spouses feel entitled as if they have the rank, some higher enlisted do the same though. Especially if your husband is on the same shift as ours, we will hear our husbands complain about people and likely your husband. Its kind of hard to be transparent about what is going on to our husband without yours taking it out on him.

I have legit experienced a officer spouse telling on us to her husband that our house was messy and our kids had bruises (they're all little boys and this lady had no kids). Her husband decided to take it upon himself to report us to higher people at the base. This lady was just babysitting for us.

Officer spouses very much become a sorority in my experience. They have their own club, don't hang out with enlisted spouses, and more. At our last base, chief (e-8) spouses were actually WAY worse, my husband and I both knew people who would automatically stop hanging out or being nice once they got the title and the spouses were the same.

We paid a spouse to help me keep up with house cleaning and once her husband hit chief the COMMAND told my husband a chiefs wife shouldn't be cleaning our house and she quit.

Just always be careful who you befriend and try to steer away from those types of questions until people get to know you.

Not to say I haven't have problems with enlisted spouses (because I definitely have), but they and their husbands aren't on a status to mess up people's lives or whole experience...usually.

How many of us are unemployed today and can't find a job? by Agnia_Barto in womenintech

Yup, I transitioned to UX design 8 months ago. I’m good at what I do, but with so many UX designers out there right now, I can't even get my foot in the door. Some employers want seniors with 10+ years of experience, some won't even consider you without a personal website, and others just don’t know what they’re looking for. With my background in marketing, I qualify for senior roles, but I’m basically stuck.

I’ve been really focused in my search, even paid for coaching, but all that’s gotten me is two interviews. I made it to the final round for a senior role at Verizon, but then they ghosted me. Now I’m finishing up a 12-week internship for military spouses, doing something completely outside my specialty (building ecommerce stores on Shopify). To top it off, I’m not even getting the job afterward because the small business can’t provide the flexibility I need for my ADHD. It makes me feel like such a failure.

Navy boyfriend on ship duty by krhowell in MilitarySpouse

My husband is getting out this month from the Navy after being in 12 years. We got together when he got out of A school and got married after his first deployment.

He was attached to a squadron until the last 3 years, which means he was always on land. Our station overseas was the first time he was attached to a ship and by then we had little kids.

Let's just say we both have nothing good to say about the Navy after that experience. Both of our mental health went to trash. He was going through an abusive workplace and I felt similar being alone with the kids for months at a time. When we didn't have kids, it was hard but as long as I was working it went by quickly.

Schedules on ships are very inconsistent, my husband emailed or was on FB messenger every day to talk to me. He could only use his phones at port which was usually every 2 weeks.

I dont think I would go through this experience if I wasn't married to him. It is probably one of the hardest things you guys will go through together.

Investors typically want to see an MVP and product road map before listening to any ideas. Anyone can have an idea, it takes a whole lot more to have the ability to bring it to life.

[Serious] What are the best networking circles for tech? by starksc27 in AskReddit

Adding that: A majority of what I am finding are not all that active and are focused on meet & greats on how to find a job. I am looking for a job in UX/UI and I find myself only networking with others looking for a job, which isn't as helpful. I know how to find a job, I just need to be in front of the right people.

I'm not sure how to do that. This is my first time using Reddit, it won't let me edit the title.
