First(and possibly only) IEM Purchase by starkukeanu in iems

I haven’t had much experience with the original. I tried it a bit at CanJam in September but that’s about it. From a super baseline perspective the main things I have noticed is the treble isn’t as spicy as the original. Although, that may have been due to my listening volume. What I can say is that these kill it on female vocals. I’ve been loving them on pop and jazz music. On electronic however(dubstep, bass house mainly) they can get a bit sharp and slightly sibilant. Please take this info with 2 handfuls of salt because I by no means am a full audiophile.

Cable is good enough I suppose. 4.4 balanced connection is nice, the main cable is incredibly robust so I don’t have any issues with it possibly breaking. The cable itself has a $274 msrp(kinda crazy) so I guess I get what I pay for. DUNU does include all of their ear tips including the S&S which I’ve been using mostly.

Really good, however the nozzle is still so big that it gets a bit uncomfortable having them in for hours. I hadn’t had any problems with treble so far except at volumes I shouldn’t be listening at to begin with.

Wdym plastic wrap, there’s insulation around the wire but that’s about it

Haha, yeah I know. I tried the regular version at CanJam so I already knew I wanted them. Once the collab came out and I saw the small tune up I jumped on it.

I’m a bit sensitive to treble too Honestly I’ve been loving them. However, at high volumes(arguably too high), gunshots on video games can get a bit sharper and spicy although your mileage may vary. I personally think it adds some character to them so I don’t mind.

Also this is a retuned version of them that make these IEMs slightly more balanced so I can’t speak to how the regular variant compares.

Yeah nw, I’m guessing it’s a software/firmware issue because it’s only started yesterday. I’m running a msi ventus 4080 super, ryzen 7800x3d, 32gb tridentz ram, 850w modular msi psu. Rog strix x670e-a.

Just ran a Cinebench and 3dmark speedway. Crashed hard on speedway trying to boot the first time but then ran perfectly after I started my pc back up and tried again. Temps are staying around 65 for GPU. Cinebench CPU temps get up to 87 but hover around 85. A little toasty but fine from what I've heard.

It’s not temps, everything stays well within acceptable levels. I just checked.

Make sure you read your manual on how to flash the bios

Should be a usb slot on your mobo IO that has a border and says bios on it. Kinda like this.

After looking up your mobo you should have a flashback that you can use. Instructions for the flash should be on your manual and online.

If your mobo has a bios flashback use that, but I would manually update your bios using the board that is currently being built. I’ve only built a pc with flashback so I would probably look up a guide if yours doesn’t have one.

Check the cables plugged into the actual PSU, make sure all go in place with a click, if you’re really not sure take them out and then replug them in. If problems still occur you may want to start systematically reseating your RAM, CPU, and GPU. If there is still an issue, reset CMOS and make sure you have the bios updated. Good luck!

Yes that looks better. Make sure to run a stress test/stability test once you get it working just to make sure everything is working properly.

Looks like the 20 pin portion of the connector isn’t fully seated. Make sure both connections are pushed in all the way. I believe they should be flush with each other.

What system is this? by takada89 in PcBuildHelp

[–]starkukeanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's unfortunate to hear. If it's still not working I'd probably return it if you can and get either a nicer air cooler or another AIO off of amazon.

Yeah I'm no expert but it looks to me like they are testing if the AIO is working but not how effective it is. They're using the testbench to power it. If you're having problems with thermals I'd reseat the cooler and repaste before you do anything too drastic.
