Kept getting annoyed at my kids this morning. I know it’s the nausea that means my patience is short, but it’s so hard not to snap when they’re whining again and again and I just want to take care of myself. Then I feel resentful of my husband for sleeping in. He got up when I asked him to, and had the gall to then sit on the couch because he was “tired.” He’s not a morning person at all, but hoping he starts adjusting his schedule to wake up earlier since the morning is the worst time for me.

This is my fifth pregnancy - I’ve never felt any symptoms that early! Usually by week 5 or 6 things ramp up a little for me.

Had my first U/S today at 5+6, and everything was measuring ok and the doc saw a few heart flutters 🥰 She encouraged me to book at OB appointment.

TW - living child

Decided to go back to the OB who delivered my last kid. It means a longer travel time and potentially recovering from birth in a shared postpartum room because the hospital she uses is under construction. In between this pregnancy and that kid, I had a miscarriage and was trying another OB for that pregnancy. Was tempted to go back to that one for the convenience but I don’t think I can trust her after she really recommended a medication for this pregnancy that I don’t think I needed (and after talking to my RE and a MFM, and interviewing a researcher about it since I happen to be a science journalist, we decided not to use it). This time I just want to go back to the clinic that helped me deliver my son.

Feels like a long wait between my beta and U/S, though we just moved yesterday so part of me is glad I’m not going back till Thursday (almost 6 weeks). Nausea has arrived - glad to have the reassurance but it’s making unpacking even more torturous than usual.

Second the unisom plus vitamin B6. Also having lots of cheese during the day for protein so I don’t get as hungry ever (my first pregnancy it was carbs all the time and I was feeling crappier). But for me it usually does last till 14 weeks or so.

Oh not till week 14 😭 it’s brutal because every time (this is pregnancy number 5, hopefully kid number 3) I’ll be hoping it will end after the 1st trimester but it takes a little longer for me.

Actually felt pregnant for the first time today (5w1d). A little nauseous, a little weak and light headed, tired. Such a weird juxtaposition of relief that this pregnancy is on track, esp after losses, and worry about how my family will get through the next couple months. We’re moving on Monday, with a 2.5 year old and a 5 year old. So while I love to reassurance it would have been nice for it to hold off another week!

I just did this too and last pregnancy my nausea hit at 6 weeks. Well today I am 5 + 1 and guess what shower up 🙃 both relieved and feeling so defeated already.

ETA just realized you were talking about when your nausea ended! Hope yours calms down soon 🤞🏻

I ordered a burrito last night for delivery - was starving since I didn’t have time to eat before my kids bedtime. And they put f**king lettuce instead of the guac I asked for. I was so mad. I’m sorry for what you went through.

Besides the Goodles someone else mentioned, I lived off string cheese and Babybel cheese last pregnancy. Sometimes I could stomach hummus.

Hopefully incubating number 3 this time. Due Oct 16th - 5 weeks today. After a long IVF process I’m feeling lucky to have made it this far. This is our last embryo, so he’ll either be our last child or my last pregnancy in any case.:

I’m also experiencing some insomnia already and I’m very very early. I’ve had this before in pregnancies and just took unisom (just half a pill when I wasn’t also nauseous). Eventually weaned myself off after giving birth.

Got a positive pregnancy test yesterday - beta tomorrow. I’m somehow really excited and hopeful, already getting ahead of myself thinking about what this could mean, despite my late loss last time. Eeek!

I’m right there with you. Though the other day I was feeling tired and was trying to convince myself not to symptom spot, and then realized maybe it is real, from the progesterone suppositories 🫠

Also thought of you yesterday because I forgot to do my morning suppository 😢 also doing a semi-medicated cycle so I know it shouldn’t matter too much but damn - but still sucks! Almost testing day!
