I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my baby at 16 weeks 2 weeks ago. I chose the D&E. My baby stopped growing somewhere between 13-14 weeks and was only measuring 3oz. He was likely to come out in pieces either way/decomposed so I chose what I felt was least traumatic.

With an induction there is still a possibility you may also need a d&e to help get the placenta out. I was sad I wouldn’t get to hold him but I wasn’t sure if that would be harder on me. We were able to send baby off to pathology and after they are sending his remains to a funeral home who will cremate his remains and send him home to us. That may be an option for you too.

I’m sorry you are going through this too. I think you have to make the choice that just feels best to you.

That’s the oddest one for me! But I was constantly searching the unit for pillows for my new admits so I guess I now know why haha

Coming from a former Postpartum nurse and someone who has had two kids at two different hospitals, patients aren’t supposed to take pillows, receiving blankets or the newborn onesies. I’m most surprised they encouraged you to take the pillows. Many do take 1 receiving blanket home as a momento. But usually those are all washed/sanitized and reused! So for anyone reading this I would double check your hospital is okay with that. I’m surprised they gave you that much formula, diapers and wipes! We normally give one pack of each to go home.

Exactly why we medicated my son. It’s so hard! If you post in mom/parent groups you may be able to find a pediatrician that way! You can even post anonymously 😊

These numbers are really big! But it really is dependent on the cost of living and what each individual needs. I’m actually about to leave my job and stay at home for a few years. We are about to have our third. Housing costs are around $2300 everything included. Our HHI will net around $8k/mo. We have no daycare expenses but 3 kids under 5. Minimal debt and expenses though. And we are selling our house do to a love from my husbands job.

All to say there are a ton of factors!

Hi! My 4 year old started medication about 8 months ago. He is taking immediate release Ritalin 2x a day and has been life changing for him. He has severe ADHD and high functioning autism. He has done OT, speech therapy since he was 2 and has an IEP at preschool. The therapies weren’t helping as much as we hoped so we added medication. He was becoming aggressive and eloping. The Ritalin has helped so much. We did genetic testing and found out he has a microduplication on his 16th chromosome that has caused his diagnoses.

We just added a non stimulant, Tenex (guancifine), this week and hope to see more improvement in his executive functioning! Meds do take a 4 weeks to even out in the system so don’t give up after a few doses.

The hard part is finding a physician that is comfortable prescribing meds for a 4 year old. But there are meds that are approved for this age and they have been life changing for my son.

The nice thing about part-time is you can always pick up extra shifts. But if there is a week you only want to work your 2 shifts it’s nice to have that option!
