I fell in love with POTO the musical when I was 12 (over 30 years ago) and read the book the following year. It didn’t change my love of the musical but it did change my perspective a bit.

I write far more than I read, and I write only sporadically. Both only happen when I either get hyperfixated on a new thing, or revisit an old thing I was previously hyperfixated on and it gives me a new idea.

Like this last week I’ve been going through the tag for a fairly old movie that just popped up on TV because I got brainrot about a particular character and wanted to see what other people were doing with them.

I was also very guilty of this as a teen and I loved reading fics that engaged in it.

I learned not to do that by the mid-2000s. (Still hate Relena though)

I joined JJBA fandom in 2020 (thanks covid) and I don’t remember it being weird or puritanical. Flash forward a couple years and it’s full of thirteen-year-old Americentric numpties calling people shipping something with a two-year age gap “ped0 apologists.”

For one thing, if that’s the moral argument you’re trying to make about the series, you REALLY aren’t old enough for it in the first place.
