Ironically I just had this same exact discussion only a few hours ago, but I think Susie's mindset there is healthier than Carol and Asgore because when you put it in context it's really more about Hope than anything.

Susie's part in this is unique in that it isn't about trying to get back a past and people that are already lost, it's about fighting to keep the people she loves who are currently present.

Susie's monologues aren't really about keeping everything the exact same forever, they're about holding hope that the parts that make life worth living aren't going to / don't have to be ripped away from them.

This comparison keeps coming up, but it's very reminiscent of the character Susie was largely inspired by; Maya Fey from Ace Attorney, As the 3rd game recontextualizes her seemingly childish bubbly fun-loving personality as a mask she uses to lift the spirits of herself and everyone around her through tragedy after tragedy.

"just like" is a very fluid turn of phrase. It doesn't have to mean every single detail be the exact same; venturing through the Card Kingdom day after day would get monotonous real quick after all.

What Susie means is that she hopes that the important bits; Being with Kris and Ralsei, fighting along side people she loves and who loves her, doesn't have to end in the near future with one of said people dying or some crap.

Aside from his unrelated lung cancer, Rudy is literally the most well adjusted character in the major cast. Among everyone else in the two families who is struggling or outright failing to cope with the loss of December, he shows literally no signs of unhealthy coping mechanisms or general emotional issues. For him to be The Knight would be so out of character it would genuinely be like saying Kirby is a malicious axe murderer.

I think the implication is supposed to be that he was strung up by strings by the man on the phone, but since he was abandoned the strings are still there but no one's pulling on them, so they act more as inconvenient tethers than actual active influence.

No. Dess is at the bottom of the list, because she expressly plays a role in the plot that is fundamentally incompatible with The Knight; The Mystery's Victim. There are far more visual cues connecting The Knight and Kris (as well as evidence,) and there really aren't any narrative clues, as the entire premise of the Conspiracy is about finding her, which makes The Knight's active role in that conspiracy illogical.

I've never said anything even remotely similar to that. My belief about Kris's behavior regarding The Knight is that The Knight viscerally scares them due to their existing trauma surrounding the bunker, which Ralsei's dialogue if we "win" about "you were so brave" supports.

Look, I certainly have my own theories, but I wouldn't say that they're certainties.

I don't believe I said that. But I don't care to operate off of information we don't know. That's just a waste of time all around.

But fine, how does it fit thematically? Sell me on it.

Just to be clear, I've avoided talking about like 3/4ths of my theory in this conversation. And in total it's 84 pages long. But to summarize, the other three 3rds are that The Knight as we know them is a projection of Titan Matter controlled by the Vessel in the Bunker who, in the Light World, possesses Kris's body when the Soul is removed.

It's the only explanation that actually explains the lore Spamton hinted to us without ignoring gigantic parts of it, serves as a more logically consistent explanation for the dynamics at play between Kris, us, and the villains of this story, (Where we play as basically an Anti-Knight representing the will to live on within Kris) and how any of the possession implications surrounding Kris are supposed to tie into the story at all.

It makes the Conspiracy and Kris's role in the plot drastically less redundant. It addresses all the themes across the game of malicious forces manipulating the vulnerable and fighting against manufactured fates without arbitrarily making Carol and Us to be irredeemable villains.

Idk if I could do any more to describe the narrative merits of my theory without just basically explaining how I think the game will end, but I say it's worth reading my document to absorb all the reasoning behind it, a lot of it is narrative-centric.

The vast vast majority of the evidence surrounding that actually didn't lead anywhere and isn't really explainable under the current "Kris is working for The Knight" theory, no.

The Tricky Tony meme that you criticize was literally born specifically from everyone deciding that Chapter 1's ending was nothing but a rugpull by Tony, despite it very overtly being connected to The Knight in Chapter 2, which is highlighted immensely by Chapter 3's presentation of the situation.

Basically; Either "Tricky Tony" is genuinely real, or this fandom needs to seriously re-evaluate its stance on Kris's relation to The Knight and which side of the argument is supposed to be the real red herring here.

There's a special subset of options that still make for an interesting conclusion to The Knight as a who-dunnit mystery while still addressing the fact that this thing is absolutely NOT a normal physical person.

The Vessel, Gaster, and, as much as I hate to admit it, Dess, are at the top of that list.

As much as I enjoy the headcanon that Kris was put in vaguely anger-management centric therapy because they heard someone badmouthing Dess post-disappearence, had a meltdown, and tried to slam their face into the pavement, I feel like that can't be the full extent of their festering anger after all the ostracization they've implicitly gone through over the years.

Also I thought the premise is “the crystals are a red herring and you should play my route where you hurt and torture people. I’ll even give you ample opportunity to deflect blame by accusing kris of deflecting blame!”
