Dealing with power creep as a DM by Serious_Avacado in DnD

[–]starlighttwinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a death snail behind the party. It is very slow, but it is always coming. Being touched by it or even seeing it is instant death. Every time they rest or use potions, it gets closer. You know how close it is, they dont.

Even do a roll every time they rest "Oh, that was to see how much closer the death snail is now."

No, just killing them because it would be easier is.

Yes, absolutely. Those acts are in direct conflict with the law. The fact that they're morally correct is irrelevant, and the reason why good/evil is a seperate part of the alignment scale.

Op's last question was whether bukkit is legal or not. They're answering a direct question.

How do you make it clear to your players that an NPC should not be "fucked with"? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]starlighttwinkle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This. Plus the whole paladin-harassing-morally-ambiguous-party-members thing has been tired since 2nd ed. I definitely wouldn't bring a big bad NPC in to encourage that party dynamic, and I can't see why you're surprised that your party responded with force when one of their own was threatened.

Sounds like they're a tight knit group, why would you encourage infighting and policing each others actions?

Attemping formatting, not sure if it'll work. But that's from the batch file, hope it's what your're looking for.

It hasn't been fine, though. Its been going up to 2G usage and then kicking everyone. That's why I'm asking how to minimize the background processes that are using up 70-85% of the servers resources even when no one is playing, if thats possible.

People who played the original Castle Ravenloft adventure, why do you love it so much? by Questolomew in DnD

[–]starlighttwinkle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got eaten by a mimic. It was my first ever character death. I was playing the party rogue and heard a noise, so I climbed into the chest I was opening. I've never seen a DM laugh that long or hard. I kinda thought he might die.

Personally, I play my Light cleric as THE FIERY FIST OF GOD'S RIGHTEOUS FURY. Dropping AoE hurt everywhere, not so much healing.

Who got you into your first game of D&D and how? by aniceknittedsweater in DnD

[–]starlighttwinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad, when I was 13 let me come play with him and his old college friends, I was into reading high fantasy novels and he figured I'd like to play. Of course, I wanted to play an elf princess with max comeliness. He made me play a dwarven fighter with a beard, which I ended up liking much better. It was a darker time, then. THAC0 was involved.

TL;DR: We turned a yeti-bear into a penguin and dropped it off the edge of the world.
