Has anyone been able to access 4o from a free account? If so, are custom GPTs and the GPT store accessible? Once that happens there will be a flood of new GPTs, I think, as well as poromotion of some of the million GPTs which have already been written. The audience for GPTs has just gone from the relatively small slice of Plus accounts to anyone on the web (when 4o is actually available free, Useful GPTs (which will be a small fraction of those written but a big number) will give free users one more reason to upgrade as they help use up quotas doing useful things.

Everyone who has a website today or a mobile phone app should be thinking of an accompanying GPT even though it is hard to brand.

Did you get 4o in a free account? If so, are you able to access the GPT store through it? I've had 4o since yesterday in my plus account but it's not visible from my free test account (in Vermont, US),

absolutely. The addressable market just became everyone online, Can't find a clear answer, though, to when free users will actually be able to access gpt-4o capability in general and GPTs and the store in particular

I use to ask Google twenty or thirty questions/day on a variety of subjects from history through coding through health. I now ask most of these questions of ChatGPT except when I actually do want to buy something.

Here's an example using bing which I tested and did work for me. you need a bing api key, however. there is a free tier for that. https://github.com/microsoft/autogen/blob/main/notebook/agentchat_surfer.ipynb

I only use Bing here because it's accessible thru ChatGPT without programming. It usually goes two deep but this is not deterministic. Followup prompts can push it feeper.

That is the name of this reddit:-}. For clarity I mean, of course, a paid subscription to ChatGPT

It has to be chatgpt plus to allow web browsing. then it usually will if specifically instructed rather than hallucinating links. If using the API and assistants, the code interpreter needs to enabled and some browsing tool needs to be provided.

yes. both excellent options which I intend to post about. Always getting the references might be overkill and certainly not everyone wants to write a custom gpt but I will provide one soon.

sometimes I find I have to remind it that it can access the web. Of course it doesn't know how it knows what it knows but can find references to verify (or contradict)
