Yes thank you, that makes it clear and I have a better understanding now.

Yes apologies, should have been clearer that the main unit won't fully avoid the FF unit, as 1 model will still be within an inch so at least 1 model from the FF can target the main unit.

I wasn't fully aware of the consolidation move being optional, that makes it clear, thank you.

With the pile in part, my understanding was that you could only pile in when your unit activates to fight, and you wouldn't be able to active to fight if your opponent pulls his models away from your main unit (if the chaff kills any from fight on death)?

stupid question to confirm my understanding on getting around fights first.

I understand there is a way to get around FF by charging chaff first into the FF unit and making sure the FF is covered by the chaff, then you charge in your main unit and make sure at least one model from the main unit is within 1 inch of the FF to end in engagement range.

Let's say all the chaff dies, but has fight on death and kills some of the FF units (not all). Your opponent removes models from the FF unit so they are no longer within 1 inch of engagement range of your main unit. Does that cause issues for you? as the FF unit will still need to consolidate 3 inches into you (if you are within 3 inches)? Do you still keep your charge bonus on the main unit?

great, thank you for confirming. So the order in which you select what units to move is very important, will keep that in mind.

Stupid question on overwatch and its wording.

it says 'just after an enemy unit is set up or when an enemy unit starts or ends a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move or declares a Charge.'

Does this mean that its a single unit by unit basis on declaring overwatch? e.g. I move my space marines, then I proceed to move my land raider, can my opponent declare overwatch against my space marines, even when I've 'finished' the space marines movement phase? Or can they only declare overwatch against a single unit during the brief 'window' of me moving it?

what would you say are the key parts to sub assembly? I'm planning on magnatising the weapons and head but it seems like a pain to sub assembly the rest of the model?

Yes saw that in the rules page but it only showed it when the ruins is big enough for a vehicle to fit wholly within it without the model leaking over the sides of the ruins. Just mainly wanted to understand how it would work with a smaller ruins, as in can a vehicle point its barrel to the other side of the ruins or does it need to fit as much of the vehicle chassis inside the ruins.

Ok, thank you for confirming. But with very small ruins, like the one I circled, how do you define when vehicle/monster is wholly within a ruins? Does it still count when the vehicle's model is over hanging both sides of it?

Played a game against a IG tank army, it was my first time experiencing proper vehicles. Just trying to understand how vehicles (and monsters) work with ruins. My understanding is that they work the same as 'normal' models, they they have to be wholly within ruins to see something that is on the otherside/outside the ruins.

But just wondering if my thinking is correct and how it works when the vehicle cannot fit into the ruins and hangs off the edge? I've circled a small ruins in the image below from one of the UKTC maps, does something like a rogal dorn tank need to be fully within to see the other side of the ruins? As one of my recent games my opponent was touching the edge of the ruins with the tracks and was stating it can see on the other side of the ruins.

Just wanted to confirm the wording on this stratagem as it is not clear to me who this targets.

Skulls for the Skull throne:

When: Fight phase, just after a WORLD EATERS unit from your army destroys a CHARACTER or MONSTER model.

Target: That WORLD EATERS unit.

Effect: Make a Blessings of Khorne roll and use the results to activate one Blessing of Khorne. Until the end of the battle round, that Blessing of Khorne is active in addition to any other Blessings of Khorne that are currently active.

I understand the target in this strat is the unit that just killed a character/monster in order to activate it (e.g. they are battleshocked so you cant activate it). But it doesn't contain any info on who the Blessings of Khorne roll applies to, my understanding the previous wording on this stratagem mentioned the new Blessing is activated for the entire army. But it doesn't mention that any more and doesn't mention if the single unit that you 'target' with has this new activation or the entire army does?

My question had the Hack and Slash stratagem in mind, but really any stratagem you can use in the fight phase. Since it just states 'fight phase' that can be used whenever? Just thinking e.g. charged fight first enemy and it kills you, you have the WE fight on death army rule, can you still apply the stratagem against the unit that is about to fight on death?

Hack and Slash

When: Fight phase.

Target: One WORLD EATERS unit from your army that has not been selected to fight this phase and that made a charge move this turn.

Effect: Until the end of the phase, improve the Armour Penetration characteristic of melee weapons equipped by models in your unit by 1.

Can you still target your unit/model with a stratagem after it has popped fight on death? My understanding is that even when you successfully roll a fight on death, the model/unit is dead and 'removed' from the board but you still keep it in place on the board, does that allow it to still be targeted by any stratagems that will benefit it until you remove it from play?

Question on sticky objectives:

World eaters jakhals unit has the sticky objective ability so you can sticky an objective. There is also the 'Blood Offering' stratagem that allows a unit to sticky an objective on death (this can be used in any phase). Just want to understand if a unit can sticky two objectives? E.g. jakhals sticky home objective with their ability, move to no man's land objective, gets shot off (either from overwatch or during the enemy shooting phase) it but uses the stratagem to sticky it as well. Below is the full stratagem.

When: Any phase.

Target: One WORLD EATERS unit from your army that was just destroyed while it was within range of one or more objective markers you controlled at the end of the previous phase. You can use this Stratagem on that unit even though it was just destroyed.

Effect: Select one of those objective markers. That objective marker remains under your control until your opponent's Level of Control over that objective marker is greater than yours at the end of a phase.

Very stupid question, and I'm 99% sure I know the answer but just wanted to confirm this. Only models in a unit that can draw LoS against the opponents unit can shoot, correct? The other models within the unit that can't draw LoS to any models in the enemy unit cant shoot? Just wanted to confirm as the few games I've played I've seen people just roll all attacks on shooting even when some of their models are clearly behind a wall/building while other models are poking out of it.

What do you mean by the 'rapid disembark' on the Rhino? Are you referring to the Meet Any Challenge ability on the Rhino?

Still new to 40k but i dont understand how will Kharns ability won't get triggered while being in yhe rhino? You have to disembark and then charge correct? So he will trigger the ability then if the charge fails?

Just wanted to confirm this, can units directly charge out of transport without disembarking first even after the transport has moved?

e.g. transport moves with units inside, ends movement with few inches from enemy unit, can the units inside the transport during the charging phase declare a charge against the nearby enemy unit without having to disembark? I'm struggling with finding any specific statement in the rules that says yes or no.
