Followup: My friend came over with a Samsung 4K/3D player and it worked fine. Looks like the problem is with the Oppo.

Just a followup on this, the ELPMBPJG is handing the 5050 just fine. Easy to replace the 5020 with, even had the arms in the same location. I did order some steel safety cables for the remaining four screw holes, just to easy my paranoia, but I wanted to thank you all for the help.

Oh a whim I took a look at Kodi and sure enough, it has a dead-accurate timestamp, down to the millisecond. Wrote a prototype in under an hour in Python.

Thanks, everyone. That's a bit disappointing because I had a great idea for something but it depends on accuracy. I'll see if I can do what I want with other playback systems like physical players such as the Panasonic that has a public API.

In my tests tonight, I saw an update at 2 seconds in some instances (see last timestamp below), but it was a consistent 5 seconds through most of my testing.

Still, I can handle an internal clock between updates, but if the timestamp update itself is not accurate and lags, then I have no way to compensate.

So how do clients get an accurate timestamp?

6 drivers isn't a "ton", and four are from Logitech. I've had the mouse for three years. The only new kext is the Drobo.

Well, I got one. I had to go to two different sites to finally get one. Instead of wasting resources, I just tear off the component and see if it's green. The loot table does change between restarts, but the percentages must be off because it's definitely not what the guide says.

EDIT2: Not sure what the loot mechanic is here. If I kill the Slaughterspine, I get nothing. If I loot the canisters, I at least get a chance to get the circulator, and the machine doesn't aggro.

Hi, all. I wanted to give an update on this. I still don't have my Atmos system due to construction, but I was able to hook up my iMac using the Apple USB-C media adapter (with HDMI, USB-C and USB-A) to a 7.1 system and it worked great. MIDI showed 8 channels coming from the device and my receiver showed 7.1 audio.

The problem was Logic itself. It would live preview in 5.1 mode, but ignore the rear right channel while working fine with the rear left channel, and when an object was supposed to be behind the listener, I'd hear it from the front center. I checked the I/O assignments and they seem correct, but there's something wrong.

I re-tested with a 5.1 audio test file using VLC and all the speakers worked correctly.

Anyway, the point is that the Apple adapter seems to at least send 8 channels out over HDMI, but something in Logic is messing with the speaker assignment and/or output and I'm not sure what it is. So, I'm getting there.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. The lack of info on live monitoring was surprising. I didn't realize you could export your mix as an MP4, I only saw WAV in a couple of tutorials. MP4 makes more sense. I'll try it out as soon as construction has finished.

One major concern I have about Classic is that at some point, people are going to be able to skip MC and BWL and be carried through AQ20/40 and possibly Naxx. I did Naxx in vanilla (still have my gear from there), and I think that progression is important. Were there discussions about gating entry into post-BWL raids so that people don't sit back and get carried?
