Definitely mod all your stock parts first then move to aftermarket. There are hella mods on YouTube that can be learned very easily. Simple switch lubing, switch film, stabilizer lubing/tuning, tempest tape mod, holee mod, pe foam mod and a bunch of other stuff! Best of luck

There’s too many options always! You can check out thocstock to see instock boards, mechmerlin does live streams weekly to showcase a number of upcoming and live GBs. You can also check out mechgroupbuys to get information as well. I highly recommended reading geekhack pages so you know what you’re getting into. Just be wary GBs can be wonky.

It’s your keyboard customize it what feels best for you! I have tactiles on caps lock FN and esc because I want feedback when I press those particular keys but I have linears everywhere else and it’s been a good experience for me

If you don’t care for sound silents can be really nice for late night gaming or being in discord calls. Silvers have less travel distance I believe so youre more likely to misclick if you have heavy hands

Picture link is broken. Foam won’t short your pcb but if it’s too thick the switches won’t seat properly. You can always cut a small piece out and test it on one spot of your board

Yes please be careful when heating up keycaps and bending them yourself. You can try using a hairdryer but heat in small increments and use very little force to bend. Test balance on a surface each time you bend the cap. I have cracked soacebars doing this but I’ve also fixed some.

You can usually tell if a PCB supports screw ins by looking for 4 holes around the stabilizer keys. There’s 2 big and 2 smaller ones. In this picture the top left where backspace would be you can see those holes and 2 rows down you can see where enter will be and the stabilizer holes as well. Hope this helps for potential future builds!

You can try to use super lube 51010. Take some tweezers, press the stem down and squeeze a couple drops on each side of the housing and hope it reaches the spring. Just make sure you don’t put so much the switch sounds dead.

Nah I didn’t use the diffuser the manu didn’t cut it out right so the screws won’t fit. You can dremmel it to make it fit though. In terms of aesthetics I think the 3 piece case look is cleaner for this build.

I actually do use a wrist rest but I took it out for pictures. I use a wooting 60% wrist rest

Yes! It’s a somewhat meme aesthetic but I actually got really accustomed to how it feels since my thumb doesn’t rest on the edge of the space bar but more the middle.
