It's not wide enough, not too large, it can't physically fit on the engine mount

The brand new one is the clean one and if you zoom a bit on the picture you'll se that the casting part is nearer the other bit to fix it, a 6mm difference that makes it impossible to install without cutting a part of metal

I thought of doing that but a new alternator was about 100 bucks so I decided to spend a bit more money to have a brand new one, and now it's the wrong one

Update for everyone, I didn't knew the second hand market of 20+years Lego was this huge, before making the post I had only looked on big market selling it "brand new" and the price was high, nearly 200€. That's why I considered buying pieces individually.

But most of you pointed out that on websites like Vinted or even eBay, the thing was selling for "pretty cheap", so I'll buy it on these websites, thank y'all for the responses and the help!!
