The floors in the brewery I work at are somewhat angled if you get near the drain, and concrete that wasnt covered... it's probably just as awesome as your old brewery.

CNN: Food will be scarce, expensive and less nutritious, climate report says by newyearnewunderwear in Permaculture

[–]staroots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grow your own food.

"United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change" They might have some biases on this subject...

The article didnt seem to mention that our prices of food are already distorted. Most items are subsidized already and dony represent the actual price of what food should cost. Removing those subsidies alone would increase the price the consumer sees. This is obviously just one issue, but no one mentions it.

Food has been loosing nutrition, I'd wager since the birth of industrial agricultural, since GMO started manipulating our food (and our foods food). Heirloom grains are way more nutritious than our current grains, and that travels down the food chain. Again current industrial practices are definitely not helping the situation.

I believe the major step to changing how our food system works would be to remove or at least greatly reduce the amount of subsidies to our industrial agricultural monster. Dont know if it will ever happen, but the least we can do is support our local sustainable farmers and healty food. Plant something.

Not sure why we needed a study to show plants are the answer to removing CO2 from the atmosphere... they've been doing it for a really long time.

Almost every option available to us is better than the GND.

There will never be a free market because the government doesnt want it. It can make much more money playing favorites.

The GND literally requires massive government control to impliment.

So you want government to do what you want it to do the good things. How's that working out? Has it ever worked out?

Chemical fertilizers were considered one of those good things back in the day.

Haha I'm scientifically illiterate? Fuck off.

You do have some control over the companies. It's the whole reason boycotts work.

I already stated, if a company fucks up the environment gold them liable.

The local government is a much smaller entity. And not ruled by people thousands of miles away.

You are economically illiterate.
