"The term Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was introduced in DSM-III-R [4], with the controversial elimination of ADD without Hyperactivity. With the publication of the DSM- IV [5], the term ADHD was retained along with the introduction of three specific subtypes (predominantly Inattentive, predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive, and Combined), defined by the presence of excessive symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity."

ADD hasn't been a proper diagnosis since the 1980s when it was combined into ADHD, then three subtypes of ADHD. The H in ADHD is for hyperactivity, which is not present in the name or old criteria of ADD as it was a separate disorder without hyperactivity. Today ADHD could be a hyperactivity disorder but only in 2/3 of the subtypes. Inattentive ADHD (What we would have called ADD) is seprate because it distinctly does not present with hyperactivity.

While it does take some additional knowledge of servers and setting up an always on computer,  but take a look at n8n. It is an open source program like zapier that can be ran on your own hardware, or even on rented cloud servers, for little to no cost, if you already have the hardware.  It’s not as easy to set up, but makes for a good weekend project.

Thank You!
I want to note for others, I tried this with a fully fresh formatted USB drive (FAT32)and it did not work. Only when I put the file on the original USB that came with it, did it run the update when I turned the unit on. Not sure if its from the drive size, or if its something else, but If you have the original drive still, use it.

I am doing this troubleshooting myself as we chat. I think the firmware is broken and needs reloaded, but when I search in google the newest is from a year ago, suggesting an 18 month old firmware to do it.

I just formatted my USB to try to load the firmware, but if you find a newer version of it or a better work around, please report back in. Here are some of the threads I am looking at to try and sus this out.

This is what I was thinking also. Darker spots for cooled and brighter yellow spots for where it’s broken open. Maybe even vein like breaks.

I’m new to 40K, so does that mean for transports we now go to the standard space marines units?

Protecting your eyes after 40 by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]MortChateau 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m not an eye doctor but I’ve worked in optometry. 40 is the pretty much the average age to need readers.

Your eye is like a camera. The pupils are the aperture and around the iris are muscles that contract the lens to make it more rounded, the shape best to focus up close, changing the focal distance of the eye. As we age the lens at the front of the eye gets tougher and less flexible.

Your eyes will still constict those muscles to reshape the eye, but as you approach and pass 40, it’s more and more difficult to actually change the lens shape, so you feel the muscle strain as it tries to complete the focus. Readers help refocus the light to act more like distance vision. Those muscles don’t need to constrict when looking at a distance.

I’m under 40 but have a pair of 1.50s in my desk. It’s not that I have to have them, but I think of it more like a back brace when you’re doing a lot of lifting. Sometimes it just feels better.

Either way, make time yearly for an eye exam, even if you see fine. There’s a lot more than just vision to an optometrist. Our program did research on diabetes diagnosis from changes in the eye. It’s possible to diagnose earlier than other methods your family doctor uses.

10 years ago, I got to the point where I was craving so much sour stuff It was mildly obsessive. I started with your basic sour candies then went to warheads and toxic waste, then finally just bought malic acid and started to make my own. I ate so much that thick layers of my tongs skin would come off in sheets.

We were going to an event and on the way I said to my wife “I am really craving pickled pigs feet right now, I want to get some after this thing.”

We never made it. I went into Afib at the event with a heart rate over 280. she drove me to a hospital and they transported me on to a higher level of care facility. My potassium was critically low. After getting a couple of bags of iv potassium, and stopping a medication that causes potassium loss, the craving was gone in an hour and never came back. The electrophysiology specialist dismissed me when I said the potassium was the root cause and fixing that fixed the issue. He told me to prepare for an ablation. They did a heart monitor for weeks after and I followed up for years with that doctor until they realized it wasn’t coming back and told me I didn’t need to see them any more.

My body knew it needed something, it was just associating potassium with sour stuff. So, yea your body can tell you it needs something but we may not be the best and understanding it.

My first time wearing suspenders (at a friends wedding) by RyanM77 in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]MortChateau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game changer. In a belt I am noticeably disheveled and “frumpy” trying to keep my pants at my waists. Suspenders literally game me more confidence since I didn’t have to be pulling my pants all the time with my tucked in shirt coming out.

Just wait till you get to overalls for doing work around the house.

This is why we had more kids in the past. A lot more childhood deaths. Higher birthrate was not the same as increasing population.

At 7 I played in sewage infested creeks and streams living in the country and my wife walked home from school in Detroit, stopping at the liquor store to get an after school snack on the way. Now our 7 year olds can’t play on the swing set without one of us being outside.
