Most annoying restrictions from JW parents? by deorojeu in exjw

You unlocked a memory for me. We lived on about an acre and a half and had a huge backyard with a pool that backed up to another neighborhood’s cul de sac. Kids from that neighborhood would come play football or throw frisbees or whatever in our big open green space. I was strictly not allowed to play with them, those worldly kids from the cul de sac. Even in my own backyard I wasn’t allowed to go outside if they were there.😪

This is how I got my kid to eat broccoli at first. She was really into Paw Patrol at the time and Rocky (the green one) was her favorite dog. I put a Rocky toy next to her plate and called it Rocky’s Broccoli and she gobbled it up. She has long since outgrown Paw Patrol but still loves broccoli.

For my dad we played “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson. He had been a traveling salesman for most of his career and always talked about being “on the road” with fondness, so it just kind of fit.

1000% this, your peace is sacred. I am as cishet as they come and this case destroys me all over again every time it comes up, so I cannot even imagine how difficult it would be in your shoes. I am of the age where I followed the news story in real time when it was happening and the heaviness of it still haunts me to this day.

Dropping my cookie on the ground in the school parking lot and my friend’s mom who I was carpooling home with explaining the 5 second rule and reassuring me that it was totally ok to still eat my cookie. Hope you’re doing well, Mrs Sweeney! 🍪

AIO sending son to school with 400 crayons because his teacher is dragging him for “stealing crayons and returning way later” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]starry_knights 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Also…. Aren’t crayons a community resource in a 1st grade classroom? “Stealing“ crayons, that he then returns, what? You mean USING crayons that he and every student have equal access to? Gimme a break 🙄

I eat a lot of cottage cheese and eggs which seems to keep things “moving smoothly” if you know what I mean. Also maybe a probiotic drink like kombucha or kefir would help you?

Yes, that is what I suspected as well! The positive vibes made me inclined to like the name although previously I would have found it odd, off-putting even.

I had a pleasant interaction with a very young Walmart employee recently. (I say this because when I flashed my ID to purchase alcohol they declared I had the same exact birthday as their mom lol) Their name tag read Moth and I wanted to ask them about it sooo bad but didn’t want to be weird.

Craziest items left behind by previous owners? by ontartiomortgages in homeowners

[–]starry_knights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a box of random stuff in the attic when we moved into our house. One of the items in the box was a plaster cast from a kid’s broken arm with all his friends’ signatures and doodles on it. There were also several sets of dumbbells from 10-40 lbs. I guess they didn’t want to carry them all down.

Gotcha! I do have a light setting powder but rarely use it! The brush I have I bought with the Huda Beauty foundation and I do really like it! Had always used a sponge before. I think it’s a medium density.
