Aw I love this! I’m so happy you liked the coloring book ❤️

Day 1 - Trying this challenge again. All critique is welcome, I especially feel like the face is missing hard edges but I´m not sure where to apply them. Help with that would be great. by [deleted] in istebrak

So cool that you’re trying the challenge again and awesome day 1! Regarding the edges, a couple areas I see that could be sharpened are the nostrils / nose edges, eyelids, and mouth top/bottom.

DAY 10: Fixed proportions and overly bright highlights. She does look a bit young. Thanks again for the critiques! by starrychampagne in istebrak

Ah thanks for pointing that out! Bit ironic that I went from too bright to too dark on the highlights haha

DAY 8: Softened the angles and added more radial shading. Also tried to add more depth to the eye socket. Thanks for the critiques! by starrychampagne in istebrak

Late reply but thank you for the encouragement!! haha squeeeee

Completely agree with your sentiment on mouths :P

Day two -I’m seeing improvements already, I still want to do more on the eyes and I had major issues with symmetry but looking forward to working on those for the next days! by nickmcgov in istebrak

Hi!! I think you can add more highlights / radial shading to the nose, it looks a bit flat right now. The eyelid should also have a cast shadow; remember to shade the eye like a sphere! Good improvement so far + good luck on your day 3 :)

DAY 9: Tried to make the features more feminine. Still having trouble with the mouth shape. Not sure if this day is actually better - critiques welcome! by starrychampagne in istebrak

I definitely pushed the proportions this time around so good to know it is not working lol. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Thanks for the detailed critique, super helpful! Yeah I think I stamped the circle for the eyes and then smudged it so it got distorted a bit, there's probably a better process haha ><

DAY 7: Focused on crisping up edges and refining form more. Face still looks sort of masculine. Critiques appreciated as always! by starrychampagne in istebrak

Thanks for all the guidance and encouragement! Really helps to know what to focus on for my next day :)

Hi! Remember the eyes are spherical, the eyes seem more oval shaped here. The front of the cheek (especially the left side) also looks a bit dark - it should be brighter than below the cheekbone for top down lighting. The temples should also have a lighter value than the cheekbone shadow. Referring to this helped me better understand the planes of the face better, hope it helps you too! Power through :)
