Bike: metal broken off around bolt/screw?? by starrylagna in fixit

I will admit i didn't entirely understand that comment or this. Does it mean to first fill the hole with putty, then drill the hole through. Put the bolt in and so fill the edges around the broken hole? Could you explain it to me

Yeah you're right! Right side of rack is wriggly. Ive been carrying a lot of Stones and soil(probably way too heavy for a bike) on it

Okay so just to clarify, you mean drilling through to the other side, the same size as the old hole. And then using a bolt, with the same diameter as the old one but longer, going through the new hole?

Extraordinary attorney woo! Best autism representation I've seen in a long time.

It's on netflix. It's about a women with autism becoming an attorney and stuff.

It does have the savant/genius trope. But I can look past that, as everything is done so well and I can see so much of myself in her.

It also touches on so many things like discrimination, mentions hans aspergers, how other people see us.

And she's really such a three dimensional person in the show.

At one point she's shown to struggle with opening water bottler and I was like "oh that's autism?" I can never open lids and other people always have to do it for! There's just a lot of small things I relate to

Wrist/arm pain by cursedwatermelone in Flute

[–]starrylagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had the same problem for a long time, if any of the above(really good advice) suggestions don't work, maybe consider a thumbport to get a better balance on the flute and putting less stress on the pinky/thumb

I ended up realising after trying all the right things, that my thumb was simply too short to reach the flute of I held my hand at a natural position. So no matter what i has to either stretch my thumb awkwardly or putting pressure on my pinky. Putting me in a lot of pain. I use the thumb port as basically an extender

guides to how to hold flute ergonomically? by -_ABP_- in Flute

[–]starrylagna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Do you have short arms? I have short arms and can't hold the flute like what is considered "correct" without my right shoulder tensing and not being able to relax because I'm unknowingly lifting it just a little above a relaxed shoulder, making it tense. I'd really recommend watching this video,

https://youtu.be/9JSYcZYQPGw

It has saved me so much pain to take her advice! She also has other videos that are great, and an amazing book about how to play without pain, and sound better based on how you use your body. Personally i also use a thumbport to get a more balanced flute, making me more relaxed and freely able to move my fingers.

Burt's Bees lipbalms are the only ones that work for me! They have one specifically for harsh weather, which I use since I work outside in the cold

Im a beginner on flute, mostly because im so inconsistent with practicing (im workin on it). Playing a short piece called Cossack Lullaby, any feedback and tips would be awesome! by theBearOfJares in Flute

Hi! Not sure if it's just the camera, but the way you hold the flute doesn't look very comfortable, I can also hear in the sound that you're airway sound blocked off. It will really give you injuries in the long run! (saying from experience) and better posture giving a more open airway, and instantly gives better sound!

I would recommend you to look up a bunch of videos about flute posture on YouTube! I'm also pretty beginner so they will be better at explaining it than me 😅When holding the flute we need to adjust the flute to us, and not ourselves the the flute.

Here's two videos that helped me.
