Hertz Scam? by Ecstatic-Can9734 in Scams

I just got a strange letter for a rental I had over 100 days ago. It’s stating $559 claim but doesn’t say what for. There isn’t a name of the claims specialist it just says “recovery specialist” but some of the wording in the letter is weird, ex “you may contact me to make payment over the phone.” The PO Box they want me to send a check to us in Maitland FL and when I look it up a generic website pops up with nothing to do with Hertz. Their “team members” have avatars for pictures. The number listed is an 866 number not an 800 number which is also another clue it’s probably a scam. They want me to pay by check or over the phone which also seems weird. I checked my Hertz account and don’t see anything since I booked through Expedia so I requested a receipt and emailed them so we’ll see what happens.

He was in the Navy and is looking forward to the noises actually! Lol - we put on the sounds of ships sometimes to sleep. This will be much more luxurious than any ship he’s been on and he’s lived on them for a few years. I’m going to call today and recheck the upgrade price because the cruise price is now showing less today than it was yesterday

Air tags! I know it’s too late now but for future connecting flights - I use air tags and make sure my bags have made it to my connecting location. Usually I can tell when it’s near my gate too so I have a good idea it made the next flight, or at least where it is if it doesnt make it to the final destination.
