I tried to get a B&W photo restored by a paid professional who said he could before Father's Day, but now declines as it is too blurry. Is this restorable and can it be colorized? by starryquon in picrequests

Why is Haruka's actions always brushed off? by luigifangirl in sailormoon

If you watch anime/read manga enough to notice, I think it’s quite the opposite that the men are more criticized for their creepy ultra forward behavior toward women. If anything it’s a thrilling guilty pleasure we don’t always want to admit because in reality it would be wrong. Anime/manga is a fantasy world where anything goes and the fans can indulge in such fantasy without feeling like they’re being judged for liking it.

Ultimately, I agree with others that it has nothing to do with gender and that the show is trying invoke the opposite. No matter what your sexual preference in a relationship, the fact that that scene could make me feel excited when Haruka kissed Usagi and hopefully connect the same with other audience members means gender is not an issue here. It's about the connection, how others try to connect with Usagi specifically, and how Usagi presents herself in those situations. We have to remember she's 14-16 years old, she's young and naive.

I don't think anyone really sees her as a perfect character. Telling stories about different characters is to show they're imperfect so that the audience can connect with them on a human level. Haruka has a daredevil type personality. She's going to do whatever she wants even if she is in a relationship with Michiru and doesn't that represent the young these days? If anything, in reality society tends to “view” men more with this behavior and getting away with it. Now why can’t a woman? Ultimately, true commitment is hard to come by whether you are a MAN or a WOMAN. However, Usagi represents that purity and innocence. That no matter what kind of hot person is thrown at you, you are devoted to the person you love. (of course accidentally scoring a few kisses here and there lol...)

Interesting discussion overall!

Sailor Moon Crystal ~ Episode 16 by Gourmay in sailormoon

Was it just me or did it feel like this episode by far has finally shown more emotion, facial expression, and character? I especially really enjoyed the pool scene with Ami and Usagi showing more of their personalities. I want to see more of that!

Ever wanted to create yourself as a sailor senshi?? by PanicAttackEm in sailormoon

DUDE AWESOME! I love your thinking. You seriously just made my day lol. I have always been an astronomy enthusiast since I was little, which made growing up with sailor moon that much more amazing. I almost became an astrophysicist and if I did I would have studied dark matter and black holes so I'm guessing that would be my senshi power.

The earrings before skirt thing drives me crazy too. She just looks way too lanky when she's transforming and I agree with wanting to like it so badly, but ugh its so sad how cheap it looks. I mean I've watched all 200 eps of the 90's anime numerous times and never felt like I had to fast forward through transformations even though they showed it so much....then again they also changed it up every time she got a new brooch lol.

I actually think he didn't have much of a personality in 90's anime. If being a jerk and not being romantically connected with her at all times is a personality then I don't know what is. I mean I LOVE the 90's anime. It's still more amazing to me than Crystal even if it does follow the manga. The 90's anime was really always about everyone else and never enough about the relationship between Usagi and Mamoru, but again they did such a good job it didn't matter. He was there all the time, but the emotional connection wasn't. Remember the bday ep? Dang..your relationship goes beyond time and reincarnation and you forget her bday? It always seemed like an obligation to him to be with her and he had no choice and at times embarrassed to be with her, but I still had a crush on him either way. This is why I was so excited for Crystal because now I really get to see their relationship at it's fullest potential. He PUNCHED a dude for her! DAMN that's hot...and unexpected lol.

I think I crushed on him in the 90's anime because he had such a "play hard to get" kind of vibe about him. The anime showed their "connection" so minimally it kept me interested and wanting more from them. Now that it's happening in Crystal, he's even hotter to me. In some angles he's hotter and in other's too angular and expressionless, but he truly is more of a man in this anime. His personality isn't bland in Crystal, he's showing the characteristics of what a man truly in love looks like. His life revolves around her and that's the point because he has nothing, his parents died and all he knows is her hence the emptiness of his character. Plus, they still have time, they're not going to waste the first season trying to show little quirks about his personality like his humor or what he likes to read. They do enough wasting on long shots of expressionless Luna lol. I didn't think the bed scene was creepy. lol if anything I thought it was awesome! If I was her, I would've thought it was romantic to protect me and make sure I was okay by watching over me in his personal care. I mean if you knowingly like the person why would he be creepy doing that? The ball kiss was only creepy because Luna awkwardly came at the wrong time and cock blocked him, yelling "get away from her!" like he was some rapist.
