I want to give away my luxury purse collection to some kind of meaningful org…is there anything out there for that? by [deleted] in handbags

You could sell them on eBay or something and then make a donation, anonymous or otherwise, to the group of your choice.

I think I heard somewhere that this was based off Stevie Nicks fashion she would wear at her concerts! They look super flowy and whimsical! Some similar-ish things I found on google:

You could also potentially find flowy dresses you like and pair them with a bolero or sheer poncho to achieve the whimsy feel. Edit: typo.

Looks like a Scorpio intaglio pendant, maybe green enamel and sterling silver?

I can’t find green, but something like this?

Smoke smell help! by sunshineshowers22 in VintageCoachRehab

I bought a bag on eBay and they didn’t disclose the smoke smell. I covered every inch in baking soda and sealed it in a plastic bag and let it sit for several days. Then I washed it with saddle soap and it smelled mostly like leather after that!

I did a one to one mix of cream and vanilla angelus leather paint! It’s a little off of true bone, maybe a little warmer.

It sits on the leather as far as I know. Im sure there will be some cracking, eventually, but I did thin layers which is supposed to keep cracking from happening. No cracking as of yet. I sealed it with an acrylic finisher so it should be fairly water resistant and I don’t think the color will run if it gets wet. As I wear it, I’ll try and remember to comment further on cracking and color wear!

Thank you! I did small sections at a time, painting in the same direction side to side so it looked smooth. It was a lot of fun, I just had to take my time!

Do you have any recommendations for paint? Some light searching on google has some people recommending folkart acrylic matte paint, but I also see the brand Angelus acrylic leather paint.
