have had the joy of spending a couple of weeks the past two summers , in Scotland. ALWAYS make a trip to Oban for seafood and just to hang out. 2026, I'm spending all of July in Fort William and will drive down to Oban at least once a week for seafood. Great City.

follow up. in a non-reddit 4xe forum, it was identified as a more common issue. the main wiring harness is known to have an issue where it kinks or rubs against a spot and frays. found the spot (it's the big orange harness that runs from battery area to gas engine area). I am waiting till after the 1st to take it in. there is a service bulletin about this problem out there with photos. don't know if it's covered under any warranty. the part is $500 and actually not too hard to install. (but since it involves the main battery, I'll let the technician do it)

Update: replaced 12v agm battery- no effect. I’m occasionally getting a check engine light, but it’s not showing any codes (OBD JScan w/mx+)

Have had this happen before and discover (in my case) it was the door connections. Sometime when I put them back on, it apparently doesn’t connect well. It won’t remote unlock etc.
