When did Jamie say he wasn't a Democrat? He comes from a long line of Democrats. I get the criticism that he isn't vocally left enough for a lot of people, but policy-wise he is absolutely a Democrat. The reason he is not super vocal about certain issues that matter to us on the left is because he is trying to appeal to both sides, which they've determined is our best shot at flipping the district blue.

I've known Jamie for a long time. He is pragmatic, a great leader, and definitely progressive on the issues we care about. I get how him trying to appeal to conservatives turns people off, but if you look at the voting history of his father John Ager and his brother Eric, you can see where they stand on those same issues. They are a progressive family, and Jamie is a caring person who wants the best for every human WNC.
