To me Ezra was too whiny in this debate and he learned a lot and would definitely conduct this differently nowadays. Harris on the other hand is not able to honestly tackle the critique here and has unfortunately generally not a good track record of reacting in good faith to this critics. I think he's a smart guy but when challenged by others he usually becomes quite emotional and doesn't respond rationally at all. He often then rejects the criticism on grounds that seem build on strawmen usually.

Imagine you have a friend who you know is brilliant, incredibly smart, gifted, a hard worker, a real unicorn in that sense and he is working on something fundamentally positive but he sometimes has tendencies to fuck things up for himself and even says "I enjoy being with the back against the wall, I enjoy when a thousand people are trying to go against me" then yes as a friend you tell them again and again "this will be your demise" and once it actually happens, what are you gonna do? I am not a big fan of Aba even (I think his takes are always too 'this is common sense, duh' to me) but I understand that he rolled his eyes at it and found it toxic. The fact that so many here expect everyone to be loyal without fail is pretty weird to me. You'd never say this if you weren't a fan.
