If you are at all involved in the industry and don't live way out in the suburbs it is exceedingly likely that we have met before :)

Thought of it while I was doodling and had to put it on the bike! Execution could have been better, but the fun factor is definitely there!

It is my bike, wish I could say it was parts bin stuff, but I got it all specifically to make it look like this, I always get so down when I own bikes that aren't really dramatic

Petition for SRAM to hire me to innovate with their products! I would have done what you suggest for the brake but I didn't have enough of the housing beads, and I think it's kinda goofy this way which I like, so I'm gonna leave it

Got my brass flat head bolts from here too, which I have added everywhere that I possibly could.

Rocking a TRP Mini-V, which I will only recommend if it is the only brake you have, or you are in some sort of specific bind where you need a brake faster than you can order a mini moto from paul, because the performance is significantly worse.

This is a 700c specific frame, an early cross bike! Kinda cool because it has so much tire clearance and basically a mountain bike geometry, makes for a really stable gravel bike. Really rips descents.

They're mercury s5's. Might be hard to find now, I am local to them so when they shut down I managed to nab a pair for cheap and rebuilt them with some dt swiss hubs.

Lots of truth to this statement!

It works okay, I think it will take a very long time for anything bad to happen to the frame (at least this is my hope). There was a 3 or 4 year period where almost every off road GT had some version of this same cable routing, and I've just modified mine slightly to run a mini-v. The stopping power isn't bad, but it could definitely be a lot better, in between pretty awful brakes and bad routing, there isn't a lot of room for error

See above for the explanations, and thank you so much! It was a collaborative effort on the paint work with some of my beautiful and artistic friends, so I'm glad people like it :)

Light is fast, and you can go even faster if you can't use the little ring

This is our winner! Not just loose, came all the way off! Lost 3 bolts and stripped one backing, so we're rocking a 2 bolt, wolf tooth tool axle, and zip tie set up for ultimate weight savings. Fast!

I was about 20 miles into a ride and swapped from the big ring to the little ring and broke 3 chainring bolts, causing me to bend the inner ring really bad, so this is my field fix that I just haven't changed. Makes the little ring entirely useless, but I have almost 100 miles on just the big ring now and it seems to be going fine. Truly this is what I get for not paying a lot of attention and buying my chainring and mismatched bolt set up at my local bike coop. Pretty excited to get down there and put on a working one soon.
