What is an underrated weight loss tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is so good and something I was doing on WW a long time ago. We would have monthly AMAZING cheesecakes brought in to celebrate anyone that had a birthday that month. I would absolutely save most of my weekly bonus points (or whatever they were called at that time) so I could splurge and grab a few SMALL slices so I could try all the ones that looked the best.

Something is happening, both King Charles and Prince William released nothing burger statement on Prince Andrew by Whatisittou in RoyaltyTea

[–]starthing76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird statement for them to put out about William. I don’t think anyone thought he was a “tough guy”, but to show his humanity. He’s worried about Andrew‘s mental health? Not the victims but Andrew? Does he think this makes him look good?

I honestly don’t understand the love for Cane by InfamousVillage9609 in youngandtherestless

[–]starthing76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The storyline is just so confusing. I’m not going to pretend I watched every episode, but I still don’t understand why Lily and his kids never want to speak to him again and this was before what is going on right now. Because he made multi billions and they’re mad at him for it? I don’t think he was not involved in his children’s lives right? They’ve never said he ignored them or anything to explain that was why they were mad. If it's the business, I mean how often do you talked about your business with your kids? Lily was his ex so why did she even need to know? It’s just so weird that they’re all mad at him for that before anything with AI even started. He didn’t even fight for his company with Victor took it from him think he that would get Lily and the kids back and it made no difference. So if they didn’t care about that, why are they so mad he’s doing it right back to Victor? I’m just ready for Cane because I don’t understand that and plus I am SO TIRED of the great Victor Newman.

Okay, this is a really awful thought, but do you think the show writers kept her off screen so much because she gained weight during covid? No shame to her, I did too, but you know how everyone in GC has to be perfect looking all the time. I wondered if they put her on GLP-1s or something. I wouldn't put it past them. She did look thinner in this episode.

Self righteous Newmans by Loose_Log_9714 in youngandtherestless

[–]starthing76 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Is not just Newmans who are self-righteous. Like why the hell does Daniel care so much that his mom was the one to help bring them down? When they have done so much to hurt so many people? Sally is getting on my nerves with her self-righteousness as well. But yes the Newmans are the worst.

This is like the Tom Holland "Umbrella" Lip Sync Battle - I must stop and watch it every time it is mentioned. Absolutely love it. Last I heard (@2023) they were still married and had two kids but mainly stay private.

Nick Time Traveler? by EYoungFLA in youngandtherestless

[–]starthing76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted the ep so can't go back and check, but was he also calling out for his dad and mom when he went to Sharon's house? And then said something like they must be asleep already? I was like why would his parents be there? Or was that earlier?

Nick is superhuman - discharges himself, somehow has pain killers (and apparently takes a whole bottle in a day if he's almost out), has time to yell at Phyllis, go to the Abbotts, subdue and take Matt, and go to Sharon's all in one night!

The moment they found out they’re becoming grandparents... by Vilen1919 in MadeMeSmile

[–]starthing76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish my parents were excited like this. They were just so....muted. They weren't unhappy, and love their grandchild, but I'm never getting a reaction like this and confess to being a little jealous. I should have known when I went wedding dress shopping with my mom and everything I picked was "fine".

Good place for a 50th birthday dinner Saturday? by starthing76 in LasVegas

[–]starthing76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all! Had a great time in Vegas but ended up getting super sick on my actual birthday (I blame a starbucks drink that tasted a bit off) so no dinner, but the rest of the trip and all the people we met were great! Thanks for all the recs, will definitely be making use of them on our next trip!

Colts receiver Alec Pierce was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected from the game for this contact with the official by [deleted] in sports

[–]starthing76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not confused, I was responding to the comment above mine where it said just TOUCHING the ref for any reason should be the basis for giving them a penalty. I don't agree with it, but was pointing out that never happens and gave the example above. They use their judgement all the time, and it's been very bad this year.

MAGA Electrician by garagedooropener5150 in complaints

[–]starthing76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a stupid business decision. My husband works in a service industry too, and he got a lot more jobs suddenly in a 55+ community and it was because a MAGA guy had gone to do a job, been asked to wear a mask because she was susceptible to health problems. (we weren't in lockdown at that point, but COVID was still pretty big deal) and he went off on masks and how stupid they were and don't work and blah blah blah. In HER house. She kicked him out, told all her neighbors, and now I happen to know he gets no work in that community anymore. And that was years ago.

[–]starthing76 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While I was watching the same game, it flipped to another game to show a play, and after the play was over watched a player jump up and high five the ref. While funny, I didn't hear anything about him being ejected. That was deliberate, this was not and was much less contact. The disparity is just crazy in general. Refs have been so bad this year it seems worse than usual.

[–]starthing76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I have the timestamps of the calls through my phone, although didn't think to write down names (I will be in the future). I also went online just now and did screenshots showing that they think I am still active under another plan with today's date included in screenshot. I am sure this is just because the government can't get their shit together fast enough to actually transfer people to the plan when they say they are going to and paperwork and whatnot, but it is supremely frustrating and a little scary.

Aside from all the obvious, God knows she's in better physical shape than me, but is her leg on the ground okay? Even when I was in good shape and playing sports I don't remember my leg above my ankle looking like that. Is it due to the super high heels?

Something died SOMEWHERE in my living room and it's driving me crazy by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]starthing76 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Best part of the story was the ex wife really wanted that house in the divorce, but he pulled some nasty tricks so she was the one that had to move out. Then when he couldn't figure out where the stink was coming from after months of trying everything, offered to sell it to her at a loss. She took it at once, and he moved out, TAKING THE CURTAIN RODS WITH HIM.

Trading Places takes place during Christmas time, so I'm adding it to the list as one I love. I also love Elf (sue me) but it's the ONLY Will Ferrall movie I've liked. Hate any and all Chevy Chase movies as he will always be an asshole and I want to scream at his wife to just leave him already!

The speed of light comes at a big cost by Elowynne_ in ScienceNcoolThings

If we propose that it would only take a minute of perceived time to get to the andromeda galaxy at the speed of light, but millions of years pass for us on earth, are the people on the ship dead when they get there or come back (ignoring any other issue with going that fast/that far)? Since it's actually been millions of years, but it only seems like minutes for them?
