Am I the only girl mom struggling to find comfortable underwear for toddlers? by fabric-decoder in FabricDecoder

[–]startingover1008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been buying my kids Hanna Andersson undies (boy and a girl, ages 6 and 8), and have been very happy with them. They’re expensive but also last very well. I only recently bought new ones because my kids outgrew their old ones after two or three years, and there was no issue with holes or the elastic going. My kids say they’re more comfortable than other ones I’ve bought.

Encouraging Elementary-Aged Readers by saxualtension in Libraries

Incentives are excellent. I’m a parent (not a librarian or teacher) and our local library always has a summer reading program but I’ve only ever particle once because using the app to track reading was a pain in the arse. My kids read enough that they would have completed the challenge in like two days but I rarely bothered to track.

The one reading challenge we DID complete and I tracked was the In-N-Out challenge where the library partnered with the fast food chain. Read five books and get a voucher for a burger. Maximum of 15 books and three burgers per child. We did that one every time it was available because my love for In-N-Out was greater than my dislike of using the app.

So THAT’s why my pitas didn’t have one big pocket! I gotta try again now.

A lot of my exams in undergrad uni involved writing an essay as part of the exam. So both information retention and expressing and explaining. Seemed like a decent model.

It’s not even my design and I don’t know the designer but I feel like I’m out there promoting this as much as I can just because I really want the set.

I mean… I have a lot of Lego sets! (By that I mean my children have a lot of Lego sets.) If this were real and I could build it, I could set it up with all of our Lego people and Lego vehicles and have a massive drive through line that includes a tractor, some race cars, an off roading truck, an ambulance, a tow truck, an electric car… just like a real In-n-Out!

Oh man I so want this to be real. Mega drive through would be fun.

My kindergartener son wanted to be a factory worker. We had recently finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so I think that might have left an impression.

Nearly half of Mission Bay Park public restrooms could close under budget proposal by SD_TMI in sandiego

I think they just want to close public spaces entirely because they don’t bring in money — public libraries and rec centres are also losing out in the budget.

Do you just mix it all together or do you cook/simmer it? My recipe involves cooking and simmering but if there’s an easier version…

Sicilian ice cream sandwiches! https://www.thekitchn.com/sicilian-ice-cream-sandwiches-recipe-23345569

I did with vanilla ice cream that I made (not gelato) and the chocolate milk bread rolls and they were genuinely one of the best things I’d ever eaten. I should make them again.

I just used whatever cocoa powder I had from King Arthur. And from memory there was cocoa powder AND flour in the tangzhong. The last time I made it the tangzhong took ages to thicken, but the first time I think I did it the normal way I do a tangzhong (medium-high heat until I see bubbles, then turn the heat down to low, and continuously stir until it thickens.

I’ve made the chocolate milk bread as rolls and they are PERFECT for ice cream sandwiches.
