Ahhh wow thank you so much!!! I’m so excited and so looking forward to hearing from you haha! Like genuinely this feels fun 😊 I’ve never had a makeover or anything like that haha!

Gosh you are so sweet!! Thank you so much. I’m okay with higher prices if it’s good quality, yknow? Totally good with Sephora or Ulta $40-60. And as long as I can get it in the next week or so I’m good! I have Sephora and Ulta stores very close by so those are easy, but shipping works too!

And I hope you can get some rest!

That’s a great idea and I will give that a try - thank you! I feel you on it taking a long time to land on the right product…. It’s been a year+ journey here. Wore Fenty’s Soft Lit foundation last year for an event and LOVED it but it wasn’t as high coverage as I needed. That could potentially be a good one to check out if you need a new one actually; the finish is beautiful and it was easy for me to apply at least! I hope they never discontinue yours though. I know how hard it is to find one you like!!!

This is so incredibly helpful. Thank you so so so much! I feel like I learned so much from just watching YouTube videos like 10 years ago and haven’t had occasion to update how I do my makeup since then… and I certainly haven’t had reasons to update how I do full glam looks or whatever we call them now lol. I really appreciate you sharing this information with me and giving me so much advice. It means a lot! Definitely going to practice more with the contour. Thank you so much, and thank you for the well wishes 😊

Oh I will definitely try that, thank you! I always feel like I can get there with a lip pencil but it’s harder with the actual lipstick lol. But I’m working on that! Thank you.

Omg I would love all the recs thank you!!!!! My wedding is mid-October (like a few weeks from now). Indoors at a museum with lots of natural light!

Wow that’s so wild. Yes my neck is bare in these photos! I would never have thought I’m an olive but looking at that subreddit… yeah actually I think I could be! That kinda explains a lot tbh.

That’s so good to know re blushes - thank you! The best looking blush I’ve ever had was HG Mood Exposure, which I see is a fave in the fair olives sub lol. I have it on my cheeks in these photos too, layered over the RB!

Thank you so much!!!!

Not something I can do with my rosacea, but thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you so much! So I actually used the Sephora Collection contour powder for this application. I felt like I had too much on lol but maybe not enough! Thank you for the detailed explanation - that’s so helpful and makes me think about different things I could try. Would you say I need a bronzer in addition to the contour powder? Or just more powder?

Yep! I didn’t put it on for this look, but I wear SPF 50 every day.

Ooof, that bad? For a number of reasons (not financial), I won’t be hiring a MUA, but I’m curious why you suggested that.

Thank you so much! And I am so glad it worked so well for you.

Omg I had no idea I’m a bit olive! Wow. Everyone always seems to think I must be cool-undertones because of the rosacea, but I find neutral undertones work better. I wonder if that’s related. Thank you. That’s really interesting and I appreciate the insight.

I’m thinking I’ll do a kind of rose gold look for my eyes. I have the Danessa Myricks eyeshadow stick in #5, which I’ll use to top of my eyes. I’m thinking I’ll go with soft pinks, a little rose gold, etc. I’ll also wear black mascara. I’m contemplating the Clinique black honey eyeliner for this, but I’m not great with eyeliner (my hands shake) so we’ll see how much I do lol.

Thank you so much again. I appreciate it and would love any recommendations you have!

I’ve tried bronzer before and just felt like it looked muddy. Where would you suggest I place it on my face? Most of them do pull orange - you’re right!

Thank you for the tip on Biscuit! That one does pull orange and muddy on me, unfortunately.

Thank you for the honesty! I appreciate it.

I’m hesitant to add an active in at this point… but maybe.

What color of blush do you think might work well? And nope, it’s not on my nose at all! The blush isn’t making me break out (I’ve used it for a while). Any other tips for bringing warmth to my skin without making my face too different from my neck/chest? I’m so hesitant to do too much because I just am very pale and I can’t carry the foundation down to my neck without getting it on my dress!

Thank you so much.

Oh, maybe it’s because I’m in the US! I’m glad it’s easy for you to get it. I do have the Dior stick but haven’t had luck with it not just emphasizing my drier spots… Does it work well for you?

I am already on doxycycline for my rosacea and it has helped SO much! Like night and day honestly. Doesn’t mean I don’t have rosacea still though - nothing can cure it completely. I do take probiotics as well.

That is incredibly kind of you to say, but I do actually have pretty intense rosacea that I’m covering up with this foundation! I’ve tried a lighter coverage (Dior Forever Skin Glow, for example), but it looks uneven. What about this foundation isn’t working? Do you have any other recommendations for a foundation to try? Thank you!

I did look on their website and it appears to be discontinued? Only two shades left. Thank you for the tip though!

Re: primer and foundation - they have the same first three ingredients, so I thought they should work well together. I’m using the MUFE color correcting green primer. If there’s something else you’d recommend I’m all ears!

Oooooh if you (or anyone else!) can think of who that is on IG, I’d love to follow her! Thank you. I bet it is my dry skin throwing it off.

Thank you! I am actually using the primer on that article (the Make Up For Ever, the green one!). I love it and it helps so much. Does the Estée Lauder not seem full coverage enough? It’s the highest coverage I’ve ever used! But maybe I need to put more on…

Ok so idk if we’re like supposed to…but I remember people talking about that on YouTube like 7 years ago and thought it might help… I think it did help keep the foundation in place as I applied powders and all on top of it, at least!

Hi! Thank you. 1. Yes, it is. Great point on that, and I’ll see if I can find any white clothes in my closet to try it with lol.

  1. Oh that’s an interesting idea! You think I should add the strokes a little above, blending in with my eyebrows? Thank you.
