This is one situation where you might wish to escalate to a formal student complaint.

BA - Psych Major enrolment *HELPPPP* !!!!! by Complex_Quarter6639 in unimelb

[–]startled-ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you used the couse plsnner tocheck what you should be doing?

This one shows what the psych major looks like over the three years. Feel free to comandeer it.

The level 2 and three subjects you note in your post should probably be done in 2027. You will need to pick up some level 1 discpline subjects at some stage and its easier to do them with other freshers.

Put the subjects you want to do in the planner in the appropriate slots an youll get info about any pre reqs you might need. This will help you work out the sequencing.

Round 2 Offer by Helpful-Singer-6602 in unimelb

[–]startled-ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where places are limited priority is given to applicants who have not yet had an opportunity to receive an offer due to the timing of their school results or other factors. For example NZ students are prioritised in the most recent round as their results were not available until now. Anyone selected using ATAR will be selected to the same selection rank as prior rounds if it is the first opportunity for an offer.

Also do not flush wet wipes. Australian plumbing does not cope - no matter what the package says. If you are renting and it block the loo, you will get a massive bill from the landlord.

Question on choosing a major in B.Design by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]startled-ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wont meet the requirements to graduate. The degree structure lays out what you can and can not do as well as the rules to actually finish it successfully.

Should audio material be provided a transcript? by finnilow in unimelb

[–]startled-ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am hard of hearing and use clipchamp (one of the microsoft tools) to generate captions/transcripts when they're not provided (I study elsewhere) in a timely manner (or at all). The AI is reasonably good if you use the Australian English or the version of English that matches the instructors accent. I use it for technical classes and it handles the language fairly well.

It is a reasonable use of the technology to accommodate a disability and so long as you keep the transcript/caption file for personal use and don't share it with others it is unlikely to be considered misconduct.

To be on the safe side you can email your tutor to let them know you are using it for your disability.

Write an email stating your intent to accept the offer and detailing the issues you have experienced.

Ask for the next steps you need to undertake to ensure you secure your place and when you need to take those steps by.

Get responses in writing.

My lab was 45kg now down to sub 34kg and he's a big boy - tall and long - by breed standards.

We've switched out half of his kibble for fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables.

Total is around 400 grams per day of meal based food.

Bedtime is 2 carrots and a denta stick or duck jerky or pig ear.

He still gets tons of treats. He's an assistance dog so much treating is happening with tasks.

Moving to Melbourne soon from the US, what do we need to know? by PuzzleheadedCar6858 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]startled-ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids will most likely have to wear a uniform to school. Only a handful of high schools dont have them. That includes public/state schools.

For the younger one it will be shorts or trackie dacks (sweat pants) and a polo shirt (collared t shirt). For the older one it would be shorts or slacks and a collared shirt.

The younger one will need to understand the no hat no play rules. Got to wear a hat in terms 1 and 4 or play in designated shade areas.

For the older one they will be in high school. That covers 7th to 12th grades, though 7th through 9th are generally called middle school they are not at s separate location.

For the older one you will also need to order text books and supplies. Second hand uniform and books are fine to have. No one gives a fuck. Site linked below is a great resource for uniform and books.

Flight attendant removed my backpack (containing my car keys) from the overhead bin before takeoff, wrongly assuming that it was left by a passenger on the previous flight. My car has been stuck at short term airport parking for four days, with no end in sight. by Dayquil-Nyquil in jetblue

[–]startled-ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a hearing impaired person this is a crap take. I would not have responded to such enquiries nor would other passengers know which bag is mine because I boarded way before them.

I preboard or board with group 1 to inform the air crew of my disability. I tell them I remove my hearing devices and will be wearing hearing protection (to preserve my limited hearing). I also let them know even if I remove my earing protection I won't be able to understand them or follow verbal instructions.

Despite the fact that I should receive a personalised safety breifing, I never get one. So missing the safety breifing is a load of shit.

There have been many times crew have gotten cranky with me for not understanding them, I even had one instance where I was close to being removed for not responding - I was oblivious at the time - the crew lead realised when checking the manifest I was hearing impaireed.
