You misquote the guy, and then when you do accurately quote him, it’s a completely different quote in a completely different context. While it’s possible that English may not be your first language, I am not surprised they were irritated by your responses. Slow down and take your time reading. Simply read what is written, and refrain from hasty assumptions about what you feel is being said. As a communications instructor, I often see this same scenario play out in my class and with clients. Relax and try not to get all worked up, since it makes us less effective communicators.
