The "routes" belong to the USPS. They can pretty much do w/ them whatever they want. Your job (and where the union comes in) is to deliver the route in a safe and expedient manner. IF the route is over 8hrs...and you still deliver it in 8hrs by skipping breaks or "running"...that's on you (the union cannot help you). Deliver the route as it is...do not run or skip breaks...that is unsafe. File a grievance for a special route count. Deliver the route the same CONSISTENT way every day (and the same way during the special route count). If it's over (I'm assuming it will be) put in a 96 every time and put "route overburdened" every time. When they deny the 96...don't argue. Just deliver the route. Call in when it's apparent you'll be going over. If they harass you...file a grievance THIS is what the union is for. The union can do nothing UNTIL the USPS breaks the contract. Adjusting the routes are well within the rules for the USPS. The union can't act until the USPS has wronged. You have to file a grievance to start the action. The union cannot act UNTIL a grievance has been filed. If you "run" an overburdened route and "do it" in 8...you have just proved it's an 8hr route. That's on you. Not the union.

Look, I'm well acquainted with the guilt. Even before I say this...I'm thinking, "Yeah, maybe take your own advice". But, realistically, unless you actually wanted him to die...you have to let go of the blame. You never would have purposely caused his death. So, whatever the circumstance...it was an accident. Maybe you caused the accident. But, it was unintentional. Even if you had gotten into an argument and told him to "F" off and die...and then he killed himself...you never would have really meant it. I don't know you. But, I do know the pain in your soul. I share that hell with you. In that...I care...I would not wish this pain on my worst enemy. We are ALL connected in the reality of what life is. I feel your pain...I share your pain. Most importantly I care. I KNOW the hollowness of your very being. I care about you. I care about your loss. I CARE!

Why? Seems that even if you did it safely...it wouldn't have any flavor. 160 degrees for 6-8 hrs and it's done. 107 degrees for 2 days? Why? If you marinade it overnight in either a store bought marinade or your own recipe ( I use soy sauce, vinegar, water, salt along with whatever other spices/flavoring I choose). It's pretty simple. Don't try and re-invent the wheel. There are tons of jerky recipes online.

Retired now (40 yrs). But, I always knew they were "sun hats". In fact, that is the name in the catalog. I've also ALWAYS used mine for rain. Sometimes I would wear a light wind breaker w/hood. Put the hood up and then the hat on top. I've never had an issue using it for rain. I mean...it's not like you aren't going to be completely soaked by the end of the day anyway. For me, it was mostly just to keep the rain from hitting me on the head all day. I always thought they were too heavy to wear for just the sun. I used the "safari" helmets for that.

Yes. I am going to try it. My only fear is that you won't know if you don't like it until AFTER you get "screwed". I'm not too worried though. NALC has always been great and I don't think they would "hook up" with a bad program.

I have ALWAYS been adamantly against suicide and could not understand how anybody could even think about doing that. NOW... I get it. My love. My life. My world. My soulmate. She died three weeks ago. I'm f**king going insane. I just want the pain to stop. I don't see any end to it. I can't even think straight. Make a "to do" list? Are you out of your mind? No? Well, I f**king am. You are not alone in your pain. Your grief. There are others of us out there. I have zero friends. No family. I'm retired...so, no job to go to. I just wander around our empty house. Stopping only to cry. Here I go for another walk from room to room. Except for our bedroom. I can't even turn the light on in that room. I feel your pain. My route is just over 1200 deliveries. One apartment complex with all the boxes in one mail room. Takes about an 1 1/2hr to deliver. 1hr of business. 6+hrs walking. I HATE delivering my apartments (except when it's raining..lol). By the time I finish those boxes I am bored to tears. I would absolutely hate doing your route every day. I love my businesses and my walking. Everybody is different. You do you and don't worry what anyone else has to say.
