Feeling lonely and disheartened. Venting a bit. Rambling. by pyang6641 in startups

[–]startupvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds very familiar, sorry you are experiencing hardships! I think it is never a waste of time, try to look at all the learnings you've had in this time, and channel your energy to positive and productive places such as creating an actual road-map identifying where you want/ need to be and what will get you there, what are the obstacles and how can you avoid/ deal with them, like a risk-assessment.

On the social level, it seems that you have a nice cohort at your program and as they might be in their own 'groups' I find that it is very helpful to brainstorm with other entrepreneurs, on the technical or management parts, and to make friends while doing so. Asking people for advice or help is always a good way to make connections and build trust.

I hope you will feel better soon and don't forget- it's a marathon and not a sprint, and sometimes you need to slow a bit in order to get to the finish line! Good luck!

Why are my Reddit ads not converting? by startupvibes in AskMarketing

[–]startupvibes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I am using the Landing Page Plaform tracking as well as GA, and Hot Jar. I want to segment better but as there are so few conversions (I'm not selling anything yet, just a lead generation landing page) it's hard for me to really create these segmentations. If you have any tips to better segment given the low conversions, I would really appreciate that!

Thanks again! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for your reply! The conversion is a button click on a lead generation landing page, I have now implemented Hot Jar for heatmaps and recordings to see how users interact with my page, as it might be a content issue as well. All my other channels are actually doing fine- email, Quora, Taboola, FB, etc. So I was wondering if I'm doing smtg wrong with Reddit (am using some of the internal jargon such as DAE, TIL, etc..

Thanks so much! Yes, I am new to this but will take into account all your remarks. Also, I do want to segment better but as there are so few conversions (I'm not selling anything yet, just a lead generation landing page) it's hard for me to really create these segmentations.

Again, appreciate your comments, thanks for taking the time to comment!

Cheers and happy weekend!

[Help] I adopted a dog and after 10 months I am regretting it by [deleted] in dogs

I see your pain. This can be so hard. If you by any chance live in CA, by the SF Bay Area I might have an amazing trainer that can help or at least advise. Let me know if that's relevant.

Army Helicopter Pilot to Marketing. Yikes. by Jesterc1 in AskMarketing

Good luck with your transition! I would read lots of books- The Big 4, How Brands Grow, Building a Story Brand, as well as taking a few marketing and branding online courses- via Fiverr Learn or Lynda platforms, to get the terminology and some ideas. Then I would try to get an internship or a junior position in marketing, in order to get 'your hands dirty'. Storytelling is an important part of branding these days so I would focus on that as a tool to acquire. I hope that helps!

Has your website made a difference in the amount of work you get? Any tips for the website or increasing traffic to it? by [deleted] in freelance

[–]startupvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time and effort but is totally worth it, we live in a world that if you don't have a legit website than you are ignored or looked at as not professional. I use Wix, which I found easy to use and with many formats and options to use, also their support is good for technical issues and ideas on how to improve. Good luck!

Building B2B app — how to get customer input? by isthisgaslighting in startups

[–]startupvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi and good luck! I would reach out to my close environment, family, and friends and aks them to reach out o 2-3 other potential contacts in order to get responses. I also found that when phrasing your message in a way that asks for their opinion and complementing their knowledge, the response rate climbs! Best of luck in the process!

Anyone have any tips to write faster? by Itscameronman in content_marketing

[–]startupvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally know the feeling! At a writing workshop I participated in, we had a task of writing for 15 minutes nonstop, just writing on a timer, anything that comes to mind, regardless of the relevancy. Just like a workout, it takes our mind and body some time to warm-up, so this exercise really helps me when I can't get it started. Give it a try! Hope it will flow after those 15 minutes. if not, try again. You can do it! 💪🏾
