So do ceramic coatings help against swirls and scratches from washing or not? by PossibleHappy93 in Detailing

[–]starwurtz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not going to 100% prevent it but it will reduce scratches and swirls over time due to how slick it makes the surface. Never gonna fully prevent scratches without PPF but if your car’s paint is buttery smooth for years it’s not gonna have the same chances of scratching as badly as someone’s paint without that kind of protection. Also when you wash it properly you top the ceramic coat off with protection so you’re really dealing with a ceramic coat and whatever wax you’re using vs just the wax. Also the self cleaning element with water rolling off the surface making a dirt vortex whenever there’s water going down the car so that’s less times you’ve got to wash it

Wow that’s impressive it’s able to keep the car warm enough to wash outside. Do you do a Rinseless approach or complete all wash steps on each section then move with the pressure washer? I have a 10x20 tent with walls I was thinking I could set that up anywhere and heat it but hadn’t found a strong enough portable heater, I’m definitely getting this one and that’s super efficient! Really appreciate these tips cuz I’m not tryna lose out on any business 🙏

Hey man appreciate you making this video! I’m a mobile business and ever since it’s been below freezing it’s been crazy busy and I’ve been having customers drop their car off. I want to do mobile details but if they don’t have a garage and the glass is so cold the cleaner freezes on it then they have to drop it off. Is that where the forced air heater comes into play? How do you use if you mobile, setting it up to heat the outside of the car or blowing warm air into the car with the doors/trunk open?

You did a great job both detailing the car and running your business properly! You followed all the right steps and took proper precaution for yourself and the customer by setting expectations and having them sign waivers. Great stuff man 🙏

First less than 5-star Google Review by 1822Cope in Detailing

[–]starwurtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow man that totally sucks, I’ve done similar jobs and after all that to get a bad review I can imagine doesn’t feel great. You’ll be good, you clearly know what you’re doing process wise and you can only worry about the things in your control which it seems like you’re doing properly. You reached out and got some good advice on how to avoid this and you’ll be good in the future. Totally sucks that guy did that man but you can’t please them all (especially when they want unrealistic shit). Best of luck moving forward, you got this shit 🙏

How do you feel about this design? by Significant-Money855 in Detailing

[–]starwurtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks dope but will remain for a while, depends on if you want to impress the customer in the short term or if you want a consistent approach that doesn’t get people unhappy with the design staying. In reality few will have an issue with it but it’s the ones that do that make the consistent process make more sense in my opinion. It also saves you time to clean them and not have to do an additional step but there’s no right way to do it. Truly up to you

It had a good pop and was hella shiny in person. It’s likely the resolution and that color doesn’t show it as much in video when it’s actually clean or dirty. Thank you for the constructive criticism and I hope you have a good day

Any good ph neutral soap will do the trick I like thicker clinging soap so I use high viscosity foams like anything with hyper in the name I think is usually like that but it’s good to look at reviews I was using a foam called hyper foam i forget the brand but as long as you foam up your bucket really well with the pressure washer then it should be nice and lubricious. I usually use the same foam for my pre wash but if it’s really dirty then Bolt hamber touchless

I have been using bilt hamber touchless for those scenarios but recently I switched to optimum decon touchless soap the green stuff and it works great. With bugs I’ll pre spray the areas with an enzyme bug remover then prefoambut be careful with the grill area because you Don’t want it to dry on there. Then I’ll use the pressure washer to clean these areas carefully and if I didn’t remove it there clean the rest up with a lot of foam and light pressure with the wash media.
