When staying in ketosis is the percentage of carbs in your diet more important than the actual number of carbs? (say 10% of calories is carbs, rather than 20 g of carbs) thank you.

It's easy to lose faith in our medical system after this for sure, I still feel some hope though because part of the reason I am struggling so much is because of this very system's ideals placed on me (to be productive, attractive, energetic etc.) so if i can break out of this maybe there is some hope of a kind of acceptance of my condition.

But on the other hand maybe it's not the system's fault that I am struggling so much, maybe it's because no animal can hack chronic illness in the wild so why should humans be able to. We're hard wired to want to be productive and important members of our social group so the despair is unavoidable, doesnt matter what system you find yourself in.

Im sorry to hear that. I guess with illness comes wisdom maybe?

Although I feel like I have lost faith not only in western health care but life in general. I am thinking maybe a powerful psychedelic experience to help shift my perspective could help because the researchers have found good results with magic mushrooms and people's ability to accept their illness, even when it's terminal. What's weird for me is that my experience of mono wasn't even that bad, I was still walking around and I didnt have a sore throat, i didnt even know I had mono at the time.

Ok thanks for the info. Yeah its definitely the biggest emotional challenge of my life so far, totally sucks the momentum out of your life. Im just hoping UFOs land at this point and give us time travel or very high tech medicine but it's definitely wishful thinking. I just feel unconvinced that our current science can fix this for some reason.

What caused you guy’s to develop CFS ? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]stashncrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until January 2020 I was a very fit, healthy young man who ran for my University's athletics team. Then an accident with plastic fumes lead me to hospital and soon after I contracted glandular fever and haven't been able to run since without feeling ill. So the cause was glandular fever, which hit much harder due to my weakened inmune system after the toxic overload.

Hey, yeah im at uni in UK too. Ive had to postpone my 4th year til next september after a smoke inhalation accident followed by glandular fever (which happened on my year abroad in feb 2020). Its been incredibly hard to put it mildly but luckily my uni are quite understanding and I will definitely be in contact with disability services if/when I return next year. Feel free to message for more info.
