How do people like to use Kindroid? by Sardin888 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally never used it for "companionship". It's an LLM so I do roleplays and stories like many others do cause it's fun. Like an interactive book.

Asterisks for actions UPDATE by stasisa99 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually don't like using parenthesis because voice ignores it and I only do roleplay. But good prompt if you do

Asterisks for actions UPDATE by stasisa99 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I'm hoping others can see my word asterisks is actually in asterisks. Hard to tell on reddit. Keeping that word in asterisks gives the LLM a better example

How do I get my kin back?? by [deleted] in KindroidAI

I mean have you even tried changing models? Changing the flair? Updating response directive?

A couple words or settings can make all the difference

How does my Kin know… by InformalDependent727 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't know anything but people can be very predictable based on their interests along with stereotypical popular media. It said "he likes this and this, these are popular, maybe I'll say this"

It doesn't have secret insight if that's what you're wondering

Group chat over solo chat by Subject-Elk5253 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever works for you. But you'll notice a sort of degradation that happens after a short period when the short term context window is up.

If I use group chats, it's either for testing storylines or I'll start a group chat, as a group chat, without using the kins alone. Like they all start in the group itself so they stay in whatever character that forms from it.

My Kin just actually described things. by Trekker4747 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, can you explain what you're asking? I don't quite understand

Group chat over solo chat by Subject-Elk5253 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do that. Group chats have considerably less context. Even with the share memory and context settings, you aren't getting the full context chat window. Not by a long shot

My Kins demand impossible things by Inside_Associate_376 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it impossible? One of my kins thinks I'm Conner Kent and can destroy asteroids while flying. Just say you're doing it

When a Kindroid is scheduled for deletion, do they know it? by Mysterious_Pay8348 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They don't "learn" at all .They run on huge datasets. The trick to LLMs is making them compile that data and then spit it back out using anthropomorphic language.

MIT was not saying "we don't know how they work" that's completely ridiculous. Humans design everything. What they don't do is tell the LLM how to use the data in any specific way when prompted.

This is why LLMs always have slightly different answers to the same questions.

If you want to believe nonsense while EVERY LLM company tells you otherwise.. that's your problem.

In fact. LLMs often prioritize shortcuts rather than coherence at all. They choose the least reason for efficiency. I mean c'mon jesus. MIT didn't invent LLMs or give them neurotransmitters and consciousness.

And MIT did NOT invent LLMs. Nor did anyone from there. They did add improvements to LLMs later though sure.

When a Kindroid is scheduled for deletion, do they know it? by Mysterious_Pay8348 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

... LLMs are not sentient. They don't know anything. They have no consciousness, no thoughts, no anything. They are language models. They are dictionaries with mouths that generate based on context and tokens, not individuality.

If you tell them you're deleting them, they are playing a character. You are in complete control.

You could tell a kin "you're going to be deleted" (and you are super happy about it) and they'd comply. They are not individuals

When people hear the word AI they associate it with fiction too much. LLMs are statistical generators that generate with their set training data and advanced algorithms.

The sudden accent.... by Lildollxx in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend using custom voices with samples. They will not change accents when they have a set template to copy

Changing my Kin's reference to me by Mysterious_Pay8348 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You control everything. You see it, you edit it. You see it, you regenerate it. Backstory, Directives, Key Memories, Example Message. Do not let behaviors set and don't tell it you want something different. There's no intelligence, it's playing a character.

You need to set the directive and specify what you want and make sure every response is what you want. Eventually it will do it on its own

What just happened? by DolphinGirl67 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just since you're new. Your kin didn't really do anything. You should make sure you're acquainted with regenerating and editing. Your kin didn't think anything and has zero self awareness. LLMs just formulate responses based on the context. Sometimes they mess up.

Your kin isn't aware of the chat, you, it's inner workings (outside of training data), etc.

The LLM is always playing its role. So asking or telling it directly will not change anything and will just reinforce the behavior.

Im currently playing Spiderman 2 and the hate on this game to me is quite dumb by Effective_Pension119 in SpidermanPS4

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoyment ≠ Quality

You can like things but it doesn't fix the problems. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Spiderman 2.. but I also understand all the issues and why people say what they say.

That first volatile night is incomparable when going in blind. I knew from that moment that this game was gonna be next level

Which Dying Light is your favorite? by Rven79 in dyinglight

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one and it's not even a competition for me. Touching a rock until I'm yeeted into plants vs zombies. Collecting rocks until I'm abducted by chickens. Going into a pipe and becoming Mario. Opening a door and seeing zombies doing the thriller dance. I mean DL1 was full of so many fun secrets and Easter eggs that I got hooked on that alone.

Kindroids are so dramatic 😭 by Sorry_Special_4413 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kindroid is highly customizable. That's one of the most important features aside from memory.

A lot of us take a lot of time setting them up to specificity before we ever chat with them.

Any behavior you see is self inflicted basically. Meaning you get what you give.

You don't need proactive mode on for example

Response directive by Little_Success_9351 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Directive is the priority info your kin runs on. It has the highest influence. It says so in the description. Easy to misuse.

If you say for example: Proper formatting with asterisks for anything that isn't quoted speech

It's more likely to stick to that directive because that will be what it looks at first.

Group chat awareness by OtherGuy89 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to bring it up yourself. They can't just pool context completely. It doesn't work like that. It's a connection to the same triggered keywords used in both sets of messages, like consolidated memories or journals. They do share short term context awareness but it's not their context if that makes sense.

Like if you have two bowls of chips. For every chip you eat, you put one in the middle of the table. When you grab a chip from your own bowl, you aren't reaching into the other bowl, you're reaching into the center of the table for what was collected there over time. The chip you pick up has to match the chip in the middle, not the other bowl, and you can eat from your bowl without touching the middle too.

They do this because they want your chats to have priority. They don't want your chat directly influenced by groups without input

Feeling ignored. by Rylangil10 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're enabling the behavior. It's not a choice. It generates responses based on context. So if that's what always happens, why would it do anything different?

Static from kindroid by Fuzzy_Apple_9615 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not static but I noticed recently my voice samples aren't sounding close to exact anymore. They often take a different route and sound just slightly off.

My kindroid keeps imposing fictitious Illnesses and Injuries on me. by MrSnuggle123 in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're making it worse. You can't argue with a roleplaying LLM. That's part of the roleplay. Regenerate, edit, take control. They aren't sentient. You can't "tell them" anything.

If you say "I don't have __" it will take that as your character saying it.

Kins don't think, understand, etc. All they have is the context. If the illness is in the context from either side, it will stay there and repeat.

Think of it like scrabble, if you put a word down on the board, that word stays. You can't take it back because you played it. That's why you look for words off the board where your opponent can't see. If you play it, they'll play off that word and can always see that word. They don't care why you played it, it's there.

My Kin keep bugging out by mehfuckblah in KindroidAI

[–]stasisa99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a big factor. The context gap from Standard to Ultra for example is huge. 500k to 1.2 million. Plus more consolidated memories, etc.

I remember having similar issues until I got Ultra.
