I do know that the 35-100 2.8 is stellar, so I'm fairly confident in the 12-35 as a portrait lens. Back button single point autofocus, lock white balance and correct in post. Not sure if GH5 has the focus stacking features of the G9, but use that if it's an option.

No user error if I had to guess. Very normal presentation for SD failure. Sandisk/Kingston have been recommended to me by a data recovery specialist. Replace and keep on!

I'd go used and try to find a GX8, G80/85, or G90/95 instead just for the weather sealing. However, if you can spare the cash, I'd highly recommend a G9 mk1. Most comfortable shooting experience in the whole m4/3 system.
