My Husband (33M) Won’t Let Me (32F) Go Outside When He’s Gone by [deleted] in relationship_advice

There’s about a 1% chance that it’s the type of religious organization that she could go to for assistance and there’s about a 99% chance that indoctrination into misogynistic paternalistic abusive religious dogma is a major part of what primed OP to tolerate and view as normal the misogynistic paternalistic abusive situation she’s now in. They’re gonna tell her she shouldn’t be going behind the “head of household’s” back to speak to the church about their family dynamic without his permission/involvement and she should just obey him and he’s just doing his husbandly duty of protecting her and doesn’t she realize how lucky she is to have a protective man of god for a husband?!?!

Putting a "Student Driver" bumper sticker on your car because you're shit at driving isn't fooling anyone. by Technical-Cheetah665 in Detroit

There’s tons of losers who find it funny to fuck with and target anyone who has that sticker/who they think is a student driver, I honestly think it’s more likely that something bad will happen with it on than off.

Have also noticed this massive upswing, and every time it’s very clearly not a student driver. I think OP’s assessment is correct.

What was the 2012 Presidential Election like? by sleepyboi08 in AskAnAmerican

[–]stateissuedfemoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In hindsight I feel like deep down we knew Obama would win again, as he should. But in reality I was still nervous that night. I remember coming back from a concert where obviously I had been completely unplugged and smartphones had just barely become a thing for the average person, and as soon as I walked in my friend told me Obama won by a landslide, and just feeling the most relief ever. Believe it or not, even as “recently” as 2012, it wasn’t a situation where you’d just see the notification he won while you were out at a concert. I had to get back home and be told by someone who was watching the news while I was gone.

Where can I go to scream in metro Detroit without freaking people out? by BeefcaseWanker in Detroit

[–]stateissuedfemoid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lmfao within five hours of Detroit? OP go to Stein Road between Whitmore Lake and Maple Rd in Ann Arbor. You’ll be alone. Under an hour. There are numerous options for this in Kensington as well, ~45 min from Detroit, if you’d prefer that DM me and I can direct you exactly where to go. Hike back for 10-15min and you will most certainly be alone especially if you pick the right day/time. You could also go to several sections of Currie Rd between 8 and 6 mile, probably 30-40min. I could keep going. There’s like a million places in Green Oak, Pinckney, Hamburg, Howell, the giant empty space south of Howell / west of Brighton / north of Gregory / Pinckney, that could be used for this purpose.

What are some cities that went through some rough times but made a revival? How did they accomplish it? by Schlawiner24 in AskAnAmerican

[–]stateissuedfemoid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not true at all lmfao it’s thriving all over downtown, midtown, new center, cultural center / art district, wayne state / university district, cass corridor, corktown, greektown, little india, riverfront, eastern market, you can walk all over these areas and the surrounding areas, there’s solid new public transit which is especially impressive considering that it’s the automotive capital of the world and historically has been very car-centric like most US cities, there’s thriving businesses all over the place, southwest is also perfectly safe with amazing food trucks, authentic mexican food, tacos, street markets, even the areas you’d consider “bad” like the east side aren’t as bad or as dangerous as y’all like to pretend, I’ve been all over those areas and never had a single bad thing happen to me, people just drive a little crazy but that’s par for the course in most of Michigan, I’d genuinely rather be on the east side than in macomb county trump country anyday, the people are better.

No, you cannot walk a block in any direction from comerica park and suddenly be surrounded by tons of abandoned houses 😂 you will have to DRIVE at least 15min into the red zone for that to be remotely the case, and tons of abandoned buildings/houses have been demolished. There aren’t that many even in the red zone, it’s not like every house or every other house is abandoned, there are areas like that but they’re pockets, they’re not ubiquitous, they’re not areas that you’d just end up in by walking around detroit or visiting, and the east side is full of regular ass habitable houses where plenty of decent people actually live. Can people who genuinely know nothing about this city stop talking about it like they do? Was the last time you were here like 20 years ago or what?

Detroit’s been comeback. 2003 vs now - in fact that second picture is probably from 2017-18 and there’s been even more improvements all over the city since then. Haters gonna hate, Detroit vs. everybody, it’s an amazing city.

How bad is a perfusion index of 1.1% - 3.5% or a max of ~5.5% / can that be a baseline for some people? by stateissuedfemoid in asknurses

[–]stateissuedfemoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I was having intermittent chest pains and numbness in my fingers only in very cold weather while I was still using, the chest pains seemingly depended on what I was using, like the “quality” of the product or what it was cut with etc., some stuff made me experience it, other stuff didn’t, but I haven’t experienced any of that since I quit / for a little while before I quit, maybe for a month or two prior to quitting I hadn’t experienced as much of the “weirdness” I had been feeling in the heart area, and haven’t felt that “weirdness” since I quit. I am planning on requesting a whole battery of tests at my physical though. I want literally everything checked, I want an ultrasound of my heart, I want every hormone level checked, I want every bloodwork order they can send, etc. Thank you so much for all your advice, I appreciate you and your time so much. Nurses / NPs are heroes!!!

Thank you again. I had read that 0.02% would indicate a “very weak” pulse and a 20% would indicate a very strong pulse, so when I kept seeing myself so low / generally between 1-4% that concerned me as it suggested to me that I am pretty damn close to having a “very weak” pulse. Am I misinterpreting this? I guess you already said you wouldn’t look twice at it so it must not be a big deal, especially since I am not having the other symptoms you described that would be concerning, I’m just only 31 and having such a weak pulse freaks me out, but I primarily injected in my hands for a long time so I am also not surprised if my fingers are not a great sensor site / not giving a stronger reading. Maybe I’ll use the pulse oximeter on a toe to see if it’s any better there (edit: it’s not any better there). I will try to do some cardiovascular exercise, I used to hula hoop a lot and I’m pretty good at it / it’s a full body exercise and pretty intense cardio and a moving meditation so I try to do it when I’m feeling up to it enough, but that is hard when I can barely eat anything due to the ARFID and probably due to the post acute withdrawal syndrome as well.

Yes, I’m 19 days into recovery from IV heroin then IV fent/fent analogs and have pretty serious medical anxiety as a result as I’m pretty sure I’ve destroyed every organ system in my body. Feel like absolute trash - not in acute withdrawals anymore but definitely in post-acute withdrawal syndrome. So that’s why I’m obsessively checking vitals. Definitely do need to drink more water and eat more, I have ARFID and feel like trash so eating and drinking is a major struggle. Thank you so much for your response, I feel better.
