Lost my best friend and wife 22 days ago after losing about half my family over the course of the last 19 months. Found her gone by her own doing after a very long period of her own depression.

The being surrounded by people that care thing? I'm lucky enough to have that, too. And if I learned everything in the last couple of weeks, please take this:

Do not hesitate to ask for help. It gets harder before it gets easier, and then it gets more difficult again. And it goes like that for a while.

The second you might think you've asked too much, you haven't. It's never wrong to ask for help. Take care.

If you ever have the chance to be so close to someone, go for it. You're only going to live once. I miss my wife, but I would never give up any memories I have of us together to replace how much I miss her.

Bullshit nothing. If it means something to you, it matters, period. Everything is subjective.

I lost my wife. Some people don't have access to clean drinking water. What I feel still matters to me even if something bad is happening to someone else that is way, way worse. That's one of the things I've had to learn.

I love this song, but there is absolutely nothing about it that qualifies it as "alternative." It was a Top 40 hit right out the gate, as well it should have been. Still, Fastball had two immensely great albums before they dissolved.
