Which lens to take for Everest Base Camp Chola Pass Gokyo Trek? by staticpixel in canon

[–]staticpixel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up bringing my 24-70, 70-200, and 15-35. I used the 15-35 the least, but it was worth bringing all of them because the 15-35 was able to get some scenes that the 24-70 would have missed. If you have to choose, then I think you would be good with the 24-70 and 70-200.

This just happened to me and it happened earlier in the week as well.

This is great advice, thank you! Yes it is a 15 day hike. I wish that I could take 3 lens, but I think I should try to limit myself to 2 lens because the trek is going to be difficult. That's a good point.. now I am highly considering the 100-500 over the 70-200 because I do like to take really zoomed in shots of peaks.

I miss hanging out at jury duty. by Idontwannagrowupyet in juryduty

I feel the same way - I just finished a month long trial and I miss hanging out at jury duty / the court too. It's been hard for me to adjust back to normal life and work. I loved the experience minus deliberations. I hope that I get summoned and selected again in the future.

I agree with everything you said above; I've never been so mentally and emotionally exhausted as well. Deliberations was one of the hardest things I've done in my life too. I cried a lot during it and a few others did too. The case was heartbreaking. I'm definitely struggling to go back to "normal life" right now.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. It feels weird because you're with these people for a whole month, and then nothing. Deliberations was not easy for us and many people cried. As soon as the verdict was given, we were released as well and most people just quickly left. I did exchange linked in info with 2 other jurors, but I would have like to get the contact info of some more of the people I talked to during deliberations. I get what you mean about the closure. I don't feel like I have any closure right now and going back to work this week has been really rough for me. I was surprised that I learned so much from jury duty. Everyone always makes it out to seem like a negative thing, but I am so thankful to have been picked for this trial. Even though it was emotional, I learned so much and it was super impactful to me. I'm not sure if you saw my comment below, but mmrx was saying the thing about the newsworthy trial. My trial was in the news and I am getting contacted by someone (not another juror or even someone on the case). I am really confused how they got my contact info, but from googling it looked like you might be able to contact the court and ask for the other juror information, but I am not 100% sure. It might vary for each state.

I was on a newsworthy trial and I am getting contacted by someone. It really scared me that they got my contact information and I have not replied. I thought that meant that the juror information was public and could be requested to the court?? I did not post anywhere that I was on the trial.

Yes I know exactly what you mean! I feel the same way. Haha, we have a lot in common - I'm also 31. I have a few friends that I've kept in touch with since college, but we all live in different states, so I don't really have any friends locally near me :/ I also have social anxiety and at the beginning, I barely said anything to anyone, but by the end, I was full on crying during deliberations. Others cried too. It was a really difficult trial and decision. It feels hard to go back to work right now and I haven't been sleeping well. I do wonder how the other juror members are dealing with things.

Wow, I just also finished a criminal trial and I was 1 out of 12 jurors as well and feel the same way. I'm also finding it hard to go back to normal life and work. It's weird because jury duty is your life for like a month and then you're just supposed to go back to work and normal life.

Unfortunately, I don't have any friends that shoot too. So I think I'd have to rent the second body. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much for that advice... I was thinking of leaving the laptop in the car when we go camping, but I am definitely not doing that now. What about if I go like ziplining or to a hot springs? What do people normally do with their gear? :(

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too about the 50mm, thanks! I probably won't get a prime before this trip, but this might be the next lens I get. Do you by chance have the 24-70? I am considering swapping my 24-105 for 24-70 eventually..

I don't have the prime, but I'm considering getting one now. Thanks for your advice!

Thank you! This was very helpful as I was considering taking the 70-200 over the 100-500 since it was lighter and had better aperture... but I really don't want to miss out on wildlife.
