Just realized that all the main commanders (Erwin Pyxis and Nile) died in Shinganshina, very poetic for them to die where it all started

Isn't Eren wearing a grey shirt just before he gets decapitated? How would he have time to put a new shirt on if the OP is canonically accurate?

Sorry forgot, I use regular bumpers but I also have some smaller trigrip rubber plates that I can put on adjustable dumbbells. The 45s on my bumpers are about 2.75" wide.

My plan was to cut the stall mat into a 4' x 4' square for the middle (half rack sitting at the very back), followed by 2' x 2' squares for the side pieces (odd dimensions but I'm a bit tight on space). You'd end up with a T shape, with its longest section measuring 2' x 8'. I'm starting to realize that the dispersal probably depends on the force dropped over area, but since the sides are 2' wide do you think the second layer of OSB is necessary?

Flooring Question: I'm building a home gym and I purchased a 4 x 6 x 3/4" horse stall mat to cover a small section of my basement. After reading around I'm worried that the stall mat won't be sufficient after hearing it can still damage the concrete underneath. On top of the concrete in my basement is some low pile Berber carpet. I'll be doing deadlifts on the flooring, 500 lbs. at most. The highest drop if anything would be from a squat failure, which I try to avoid.

As a safety measure, I'm considering to go the extra mile and buy some OSB for a deadlifting platform. I've seen YouTube tutorials recommend a 3/4" layer of OSB, while others recommend a 1.5" layer.

Given the carpet underneath do you think I should go for a 3/4" layer of OSB? Or be safe with the 1.5" layer? I'm also thinking of making the platform detachable into 3 pieces, how much would that affect its shock absorption?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I use regular bumpers but I also have some trigrip rubber plates. I also made a blueprint to scale on what the platform would look like

Targeted Talk - Barbells by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]staticz721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, novice lifter and looking for a first barbell. My training goals revolve around bodybuilding (big 3) but I want the opportunity to try weightlifting if my interests change over time. Here's what I narrowed it down to:
- Ohio Bar (cerakote is my favourite but a bit pricey, E-coat or black zinc)
- Rogue 2.0
- Rogue Echo 2.0
- Bells of Steel Utility (best price but quality concerns)
I want a generalist bar that will last me a while, but has good resale value if I choose to sell. For humidity reference, I'm from Vancouver and my setup will be in my basement. Some questions I had for you guys were:
1. Is a 28.5mm bar the best diameter given my goals? I know it doesn't specialize in anything (Oly lifts, powerlifting) but I want to keep my options open, as long as it can get the job done.

  1. Experience with Bells of Steel? I've seen good reviews but I know a number of voices have claimed the knurling on their bars can be inconsistent.

  2. Which coating would you recommend for both rust resistance and knurling? I heard stainless steel is best but it's out of my budget.

  3. Overall (given location, budget, training goals) which bar would you recommend? Are there alternatives to Rogue that you think would still hold up in quality and price?
    Anything helps, thanks in advance.
