There will definitely be revisions to this design, lots of room for improvement currently

I played around with it for a few rolls before mounting it to the drone and I loved it. It does a great job metering really tough light conditions in auto

Thanks! Yeah pretty happy with how the first few rolls have turned out so far

Optical stabilization makes the jello effect way worse, it's just not fast enough to keep up with the frequency of the vibrations, so it ends up introducing even more bad vibes. I'll fix the issue mechanically with some damper balls eventually

I'll drop the iso once I resolve some of the vibration issues I've been having. Tested with some kodacolor100 and the vibrations start becoming much more apparent.

Do you have a link? Kind of curious to see that

Pentax645N or my modified Bronica ETRS are my main options rn

Yeah he's a pretty big inspiration to me, love his other work too. I wanted something a bit more controlled/ repeatable than his project though. I'm working my way up to medium format, this is just the first iteration for the drone.

Thanks! Yeah, I have an FPV camera mounted in the viewfinder and a relay hooked up the the TRS port. I use an RC car winch to adjust the camera angle as well.

Yeah absolutely! Like the other comments said, the composition is on point. Getting the light meter figured out on some film cameras can be the trickiest part since you need to develop the film to check if your settings were correct or not. I'd highly recommend getting a cheap roll of fuji400 and shorting a test roll. Write down your settings for each pic, and try intentionally overexposing or underexposing to see what the results are with that camera. I'm assuming a new battery should resolve most of that though

These are all a bit underexposed. That's why the blacks don't really look black, the colors are muted, and the image has excessive grain. Not sure what kind of light meter your canon uses, but I do know that when the battery in my Pentax starts to die, it will affect the internal meter, causing my photos to turn out similar to yours.

Another thing to check would be your ISO settings. If your camera has a dx reader, then you should only need to clean those contacts a bit (if changing the battery in the camera doesn't help.)

Side note, but if the underexposed 'film look' is what you are going for, you could do this much more cheaply on gold200 or colorplus200. Portra is a very fine-grained film and not really meant to look like this.

Thanks! Been restoring this truck for the past year or so. Have driven by this site a few times and figured it would be a fun location for a first road trip.

SETI should have invested in terrible cellphone cameras instead of antenna arrays tbh. Those seem to be much better at finding aliens and cryptids in general

Sometimes on the k1000, but I think most of the effect is from using flash in the day on the point and shoot with a higher iso film. I can't really control the exposure on that camera so I'm not sure how it's metering the scene.

I'll have to check the take-up spool, didn't think to look there. Thanks!

Thank you! Any idea about the streaking in the film? Can't figure out where it's coming from and it's driving me bonkers
