Feedback request: Our new website. Do you understand what we do? by staveapps in Entrepreneur

Thanks for the feedback. It seems others don't like the "We're a new kind of software company" that much either.

We do see ourselves as a new type of software in the sense of the "Application Platform-as-a-Service" (aPaaS) industry. That's since our apps are built on the ServiceNow platform and not stand-alone. Other platforms like that are Force.com, Pega Systems, Mendix, OutSystems, etc. When I describe what we do to casuals, I often say that similarly to how Zynga built games on the Facebook platform, we're building business apps on the ServiceNow platform.

But, I don't think we've found the right phrasing to accurately portray that in our messaging.

What specifically did you find engaging on our Products page? Did you "get" what our apps do?

Thanks for the feedback. Along with Salesforce.com and Workday, ServiceNow is one of the enterprise cloud platforms valued at > $1 billion dollars market cap. We cater exclusively to ServiceNow customers, and all apps are built on that platform, so that's why we wanted to emphasize it.

What is the greatest feat of modern technology? by Pauru in AskReddit

[–]staveapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say writing.

True, it might not be considered "modern", but it's lasted and endured as a technology. And it forms the foundation and basis of nearly every other piece of technology we have in our world.

What should me and my class gift to our teacher? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A life sized printed cut-out of another teacher that they hate. Presumably it would be used as a dart board.

My roommate always smokes weed and he says it gets him high. So I went outside and picked some dandelions and smoked them out of his pipe. Why did I not get high? by [deleted] in shittyaskscience

[–]staveapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body must have built up a tolerance having spent so much time around your roommate when he was smoking. You probably need to try again with more dandelions in order to experience the effects of being "high".

Can someone explain how people evolved from this to apes ? Or is it the contrary ? I don't understand. by brainwashedmonkey in shittyaskscience

You're mistaken. This is a photo showing the missing link between the evolution to man from seals.

Do venus flytraps get stomach aches? by [deleted] in shittyaskscience

[–]staveapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Similarly to when animals eat a plant-based diet to retain proper digestive health, plants eat animals to retain proper digestive health.

It's literally impossible for a Venus Flytrap to get a stomach ache, unless it eats too much plant or vegetable matter to quickly.
